No Sense of Smell???

Hello everyone! I was just wondering if anyone else has lost their sense of smell with surgery. I had a VSG on 9-14-14 and since then I am not able to smell anything. The past week or so I have either a terrible cold or allergies which is causing me to have a very stuffed up nose, but my ability to smell anything has been gone since a day or two after my surgery. I know it should be helping me since I am not able to smell foods that may tempt me, but it is driving me crazy! Even the strongest of smells I can't smell even if I hold them right up to my nose. And if anyone has had this problem....how long will it last? At my one week doctor visit, I told my doctor's assistant that I couldn't smell anything & she replied, "That's odd." and went right back into her line of questions so I am just trying to find out if this is normal or if I should seek out some help for it.

Best Phone App after surgery??

Ok everyone...it's getting closer and closer to my surgery date. I am getting sleeved on Sept. 4th and I have been looking for a good app for my phone that I can track everything I eat & drink. I saw several that looked good but wanted to see which ones everyone found the most useful and easy to use. Are there any that are strictly for bariatric patients? For example, one that I would be able to track how much protein I have taken in.

Hello everyone! I am fairly new to OH but have been coming on for quite a bit to read everyone's stories. I can't tell you how much everyone has helped me without even knowing they did! As most of you probably did, I did plenty of research while i was undecided whether to have WLS or not and thanks to all of you & your success stories I have decided to get VSG. I have gone through all my preliminary doctor visits to get clearance and finally just received a phonecall with my date for August 28th! I look forward to talking with all of you and so glad you are here for support because I'm sure I will need it from time to time. Also, I am here if anyone needs my support!
