I had the lap band but I was not happy with it. .There were so many foods that would not go through the band that I had to give up. Besides that, I could never seem to get the right amount of fill.I was constantly going to the doctor to get a fill and then have to go back for an unfill. Then I started throwing up in my sleep. My doctor made me get a complete unfll and I gained back 30 lbs really quickly. My doctor did not want me to get anymore fills because my esophagus was dilated. I started hearing about the sleeve and decided it would be a better solution and easier to live with.

I have been  very happy with my sleeve surgery. I'm thankful I got it because Dr. Aceves said my esophagus was dilated to the size of an apple. He said that just like most band patients,I had been using my esophaugs for a stomach which was very dangerous. Now there is nothing I can't eat.  I didn't have a lot of weight to lose because I did lose the weight with the band, but I know I would have gained most  of it back, if I hadn't had revision surgery.i wish I had known about the sleeve before getting a band. Now I am happily maintaining at goal and absolutely love life with the sleeve!

Here it is two years later and I love my sleeve. I am so happy to be a normal weight and I'm still maintaining. I have to do my part and not pig out on chocolate, my biggest weakness though!

Recently I went back to Mexicali to visit a friend. I had an upper GI and Dr. Campos told me my sleeve looks
perfect and holds 3-4 oz. I was happy to hear that my sleeve has not stretched and looked exactly like it's supposed to at 2 years.
