WOW!

So, My surgery went fantastically well! I had surgery on November 2, 2009. I am 3 months post-op and have lost 63 pounds. I am so excited! I was back to work in 2 weeks( I should've taken 3 with the soreness). I have not had any  complications as far as dumping goes. Don't get me wrong, I know when I've eaten something I shouldn't have or if I'm on the brink of overeating because I hurt like there's no tomorrow but I don't throw up, get chills or anything. I just hurt something awful. I haven't been excercising like I should. My surgeon wasn't too happy about that. It's just so darn cold!LOL!

I was, however, the most miserable I've ever been while I was in the hospital. My care was excellent, my nurses were the best! Everyone was so caring and kind but I wanted to be home in my own bed. I will say that I highly recommend the on-Q pain pump thing. My surgeon put one in at the top of my stomach(almost in between my breasts) that released a continuous flow of pain/numbing meds. I went home with it and had to take it out when it was out of meds. It starts out as a ball and slowly goes flat as the medicine empties. That thing was fabulous! I didn't even feel my stomach for a week. It was a little gros having to pull it out but it didn't hurt a bit. I call those scars my vampire bites now!

I still have a little trouble with some things but I can honestly say that if I had to do it over again, I would in a heartbeat. This is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I feel so much better about myself. I know I still have a ways to go but I am getting there. This is definately a lifestyle change for the better!!
