Day 13 Post-op

Well, it's a done deal. Five holes, (one extra for ON-Q Painbuster), kidneys afloat with lots of liquids, and I do believe I am on my way to better health. My protien shake were giving me a bit of a fight for the first few days. I just couldn't stand the sweetness. I have, however, combatted this problem. I now use UNJURY, unflavoured protien powder and add it to a tall glass of Sugar-free Carnation Instant Breakfast drink, and thin it with skim-milk. Problem solved. My protien goes down the hatch and I have no complaints.
As for the rest of my full liquid diet, I eat (drink) rather plainly. I am mostly subsisting on 1% cottage cheese topped with Sugar-free orange jello. Yummy! I do, however, have to chew the living daylights out of the curds. Other than that, I enjoy my chicken broth and 100% tomatoe juice.
On Monday, I start on pureed. Not sure how I'm going to like that! I don't really care for pre-chewed foods, especially meats. I think., though, that I can have my refried beans. I'm going to check on that one. I sure hope so, because I love refried beans.
