My first bike ride in years

Jun 20, 2011

Yesterday I went for a bike ride with my son.  I was the first time I rode a bike in almost 10 years.  It felt great!!!!!  It is amazing what 58 pounds restricted me to.  I saw a friend over the weekend that said something that stuck..."Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels."   It was inspiring and motivating to me.  She has lost 90 pounds so far with the lap band and is doing so good!  Sometimes I feel like I am my own worst enemy.  My head says stop but I just keep going...Off for another bike ride, talk to y'all later.

My first goal about my weight

May 17, 2011

My first goal about my weight was to be under 200 pounds.  I have not been under 200 pounds since 1999.  This morning I weighed 200.2.  I am so close!!!!
I have been having lots of problems getting enough water/fluids.  Now, when I eat I have to wait 4-5 hours before I drink because I vomit.  I have puked more in the last week then I have in the past 5 years.  I don't have an obstruction I am just having a lot of problems eating correctly.
Sometimes I wonder if I did the right thing.  The psych said I would feel like this but it doesn't make it any easier.  I just want to eat without it hurting...

Easter

Apr 24, 2011

Today I was able to east without feeling sick.  I was careful in how much I took in and did not over east.  Most holidays I would eat until I wanted to pop.  I was able to drink more water today than I have for 4 weeks.  I went outside and planted my flower in the flower bed.
I see the doctor tomorrow to see if I can return to work on Tuesday.
I have to admit I have been addicted to the bathroom scales.  Before surgery I did not own scales.  Since surgery I went out and bought scales.  I have been weighing myself often, but I do not think the scales are accurate...i weighed my self, stepped off then stepped back on and weighed 3 pounds more.  This makes me wonder how I am doing...but my clothes are feeling better so I know I am doing OK.
I need to take in more fluid and more protein!!!  That is my gaol for this week...more water and more protein!

Protein Suggestions

Apr 17, 2011

I am 2 weeks 5 days post op.  According to my bathroom scales I have lost 38 pounds from when I started this journey.  The bathroom scales are new...I never wanted to know what I weighed before, I was too embarrassed to face the truth.  I have lost 18 pounds since the surgery.  We bought a treadmill for me to start walking on...today was my first day on it.  I walked 10 minutes and feel pretty good pain wise.  I felt like I was going to pass out and vomit after I sat down but that is going away.
I feel like I don't know what I am doing though.  I cannot drink the protein shakes they make me vomit and that is painful.  I do not like the sweetness.  I am still eating pureed food per my surgeon.  Any suggestions?
