Went to see Dr. Koppman today (6/2/09)...I've been very ill with fever and infection...fever is gone, infection cleared, still need the port put back in (had to have it removed because of infection), but found I am down to 263. 15-17% of the excess weight gone since 3/30/09. Has it been worth it? Ask me again after I have (one more!) surgery to reinsert the port....and even then, wait until I am totally healed, and I will tell you!

Here it is, March 26th, 2009. After seven years of dithering back and forth, reading everything I could get my hands on, I finally bit the bullet, attended some seminars, chose a surgeon, went  through all the requirements my insurance company imposed on me, got approved, and have a surgery date! It has been a long time coming. Monday morning, March 30th, I will be at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, FL for a Realize Band, with my surgeon, Dr. Marema. Whew! Sure has been a long road, but I am almost at the beginning of the rest of my life. Rejoice with me!
