July 13, 2003 - 84 Days Post Op
It has been 84 days since my surgery and I feel great. I have more energy than I have had in the past four years. I am able to go up and down the stairs in the house dealing with 3 year old twins. What a good feeling. I seem to keep wearing the same clothes, my head is telling me that they still fit, but I've gone from a 26 to a 20, so why am I still wearing the 24's?
On Friday, a co-worker told me that my jean dress was tooo big, it is a size 3X, but it felt comfortable. It has been so long since my clothes has not been tight on me that I wanted to enjoy wearing clothes that I can breath in and is not made out of stretch material. Oh, what a wonderful feeling. But on Saturday, I did wear a pair of size 20 jeans that I had in the back of the closet, and my girfriend/hater said you look good, BUT you need to wear clothes that fit you tighter to keep in your thighs. So is she suggesting that I should wear a Spanx as my outer garment?
I now weigh 245 lbs,, down from top weight of 311 in January and pre-op weight of 299, that is a total weight loss of 66 lbs and 54 lbs since surgery.
Now comes the work -- "Walking. " I have made a commitment to walk each morning prior to starting my two hour commute. I have to do it in the morning because I'm to pooped at the end of the day after fighting traffic at the end of the day.
My three month post op blood work is scheduled and I have my appointment in a couple of weeks. Hope all my labs is cool, if not, then I have to be more committed with my protein and vitamins.
All, said and done, feeling great, looking great, but I am not ready to buy new clothes yet. Waiting until I lose a total of 80 lbs. Be looking out for some new pictures soon
Need More Variety
Jun 25, 2008
I need more variety in my food choices. I am tried of tuna, rice cakes, egg salad, oatmeal, string cheese, scramble eggs, protein drinks and a few forks of salad, watermelon, peaches, crystal lite and water.
I know I need more vegatables, but afraid to eat them. I am 9 weeks post op and I have not started to exercise. I don't know what i am waiting on. Now that I'm commuting 100 miles each day. I don't feel like exercising when I get home.
Well, I know that a change is gonna come. I have lost a total of 43 lbs in 9 weeks. I should be greatful for that, and I am.

ONE MONTH POST OP
May 19, 2008
May 19, 2008
I am one month post op that this has been one crazy and roller coaster month. The pain, I don't want to remember. I had an episode of dumping last week, did not know that is what I was experiencing. I heard of dumping but hearing and experiencing is two totally different things.
I ate some mashed potatoes at TGIF's at 11:30 am on Wedneday, I had severe stomach cramping and nausea from 11:30 am. to 11:00 p.m., I went to Kaiser ER, (they had no idea what to do with me, because they do not perform WLS at the Riverside location, so the right hand does not know what the left has done and it is all computer based, my entire history is on the Kaiser intranet.)
I was given a pain shot and sent home still in pain and $40.00 worth of meds ($10 co-pay for each one). Went to sleep at 1:00am and woke in pain at 5:00 a.m., emailed surgeon and was called at 9:00 by my Surgeon's nurse to say don't take the meds and that you were dumping. The pain left about 1:30 pm Thursday 26 hours!!! I will never eat mashed potatoes at TGIF's again. I don't like dumping refuse to have to experience that again.
So to make a long story short, I lost 33 lbs in 1 month. I love my new pouch.
FINALLY PAIN FREE !!!
May 12, 2008
"I can see clearly now the pain is gone." I did not believe that the pain would ever end. But it finally has. This weekend I went out with a friend and to church on Sunday. However, I was exhausted Sunday afernoon. I bought a scale and now I feel that I am a slave to the scale each day. I have to lock it up and throw it away I will not let the scale drive me crazy. But I am down 30 lbs in since surgery. Will post more later.
