I had my surgery on January 28th 2009 in Mexicali. Dr. Aceves was my surgeon, I am down 14 pounds since, and I feel great. I walk everyday since I got back home. I have to say there is not a hospital anywhere in the states that could top the treatment I received there. If I had to complain about something it would be the cleaning. They cleaned so much it was almost comical. Everytime I would flush the toilet, count to 20, they were there with the mops. But thats not really a complaint, I have none. I have never been made to feel so cared for and special. I cannot possibly say enough things about Dr Aceves and Dr Compos. They motivated me after the surgery to get out and walk, and smile. I did, and I havent stopped smiling since. This was more than an operation for me, it was a wonderful experience I will never forget. I wish I could have stayed longer. Yolanda, Betty, Ernesto(the driver,tourguide, and entertainment), oh...and Sergio(my best friend) the medicine man, such a group of characters. I will definately make another trip there myself when I reach my goal. I chose Mexico in the beginning because of the price. I did get a great deal cheaper than anywhere here in the states, but knowing what I know now I would have gladly paid three times more and still felt like I got a bargain. Anyone having any hesitations at all, you can contact me. I was once more skeptical than any of you. And Deanna, and her hubby John, there with me from Texas, also had the sleeve surgery. I havent been able to find her yet, but if you read this, send me a note. I want to see how your progress is going.
