My story starts like most others. I was sick of the yo-yo dieting, the regain, the constant flux of my weight. I researched all my options for many years before deciding that the RNY was right for me. My mother had Gastric Bypass in 1988 and has went from 360+ to 135-140. She has been at her current weight for almost 18 1/2 years and has never been happier or healthier.
I have three children and my boys do not agree with my decision and my daughter just wants mommy happy. My husband really does not want me to have this either but supports my decision now. My family also, does not really agree, which I find kind of strange when you consider my mother's success. Their reasoning is that I have no co-morbids at all. I also have a BMI of just over 40.
Well, they cannot live my life, only I can. I decided what was best for ME and my Family.
