New Riding Gear and other NSVs

Sep 07, 2011

So today I realized that my leather riding gear will not fit next weekend when we go on the Biker's Against Child Abuse poker run.  Without it I will definitely be freezing during the cool Wyoming mornings.  I went on-line to order some new ones and had to measure my thighs.  Apparently I fit into an XS chap.  OMG - I never dreamt my thigh would be so thin.  I can't wait for them to get here so I can actually see myself in them.  Secretly this was a great NSV as my very skinny sister measured her thighs and mine were actually smaller.

I made it  to my goal last week and continue to lose weight.  I have decided to lose 10 pounds below my goal and then try to stop.

I went grocery shopping last night for my family.  I live in a VERY small town so I knew most everyone there, but several of them did not recognize me.  The nurse who was my home health care nurse immediately following surgery didn't even know it was me.  After the 3rd person in the frozen food aisle said I looked great, one asked if I ever got sick of hearing that.  I had to say no, because it was a testament to how hard I worked and how well I followed through with the plan.

I realize that after losing 115 pounds I have lost more than my 13 year old nephew weighs.  I no I  longer carry an 8th grader on my back!!   I have been deep cleaning my house and shampooing carpets for the past week.  It is amazing how much easier the job has been  without that extra weight.  I am tired at night, but I am not sore and unable to finish the job.

I have to go to several meetings for work and will see many corporate people who have not seen me since this process began.  I can't wait to see which ones don't recognize me.  It is so fun to see the looks on their face!!!!

For the newbies, I would say work the sleeve.  Follow the rules, drink the water, get your protein in and you will come out a winner in the end. It is a powerful tool.   I had many obstacles to overcome after my surgery, but I have come so far and would do it again!

Keep rocking your sleeve!!!!!!!!!
