I just want to wish you some well wishes before your surgery...a speedy and pain free recovery. A positive mental attitude is your best preparation. Take Care. God Bless. I also wanted to state that it is hard to put your friends behind you especially when you need them at this time in your life the most. Just remember you are not alone in this and as you say in your postings you are doing this for yourself. If there is ever anything I can do for you please don't hesitate to email me.

Shelly.....I know how you are feeling. I am a week and a half post op and feeling great (NOW)! About a week before my surgery I started getting very afraid. I have 4 kids (two of my own and two foster kids). There is no way that my hubby would survive if something happened to me! The morning of the surgery I was a really a wreck. I tried to act like this was no big deal to so my kids and hubby would freak out. Inside I was thinking "what if I don't wake up". You know......mom always worrying.....LOL! Anyway I was laying on a stretcher waiting to go into the OR when my anesteologist (sp???) came up to me. I swear she couldnt have weighed more then 105 lbs. I just looked at her and thought "I can do this!!!" Then she gave me something to "relax" me. Next thing I know, I was waking up in the recovery room. Everything will be ok. Just keep focusing on being a loser!!! ~~~HUGZ~~~

Hello Shelly - Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! You'll find the changes with WLS nothing short of a miracle. I've prayed, wished and hoped over the last 20 years to have a "second chance" at being healthier and thinner - I never thought I would get that chance but I did and so will you. My humble advice? Walk, walk and walk after surgery. Get in your protein, even if it means plugging your nose and chugging it back in baby pouch gulps. Vitamins need to be chopped, minced, crushed, pureed? ...whatever it takes to get them in daily, deal wit' it. : )~ And let's not forget our new best(est) friend. Water. It will ALL be worth it, I promise!! One more thing, remember to CELEBRATE all the special moments, big or small. Too many people focus on the number, ie. weight. There are many "moments" to look forward to and embrace - don't let any slip by. Enjoy your new healthier life, you've earned it!! Hugs -

Shelly, SOOOORRRYYY if you get like 5 e-mails from me all saying the same thing! ..sigh... I tried sending you some links for a few people that have scar pics on their page and I kept getting an error message saying there was server problems and to hit back, and try again. So, if all the times I tried it went thru to ya -- sorry! Haha. Hope you did get the links tho. If for some reason you didn't, please feel free to e-mail me and let me know, I'll try again direct. Good luck and prayers with you on your upcoming surgery!! FiestyJ1 @ aol.com Irene

Shelly may this journey bring you greater health and healing.. God is so good and I pray that he watches over you and brings you through to the other side without harm... Continue to look up when all you want to do is give up .. He will be there for you for he said I will never leave you nor forsake you.. Hugs.... P/S/ I have no ideas on what you should do about the kidney stone.. But if possible would ask the surgeon if he could take it out when he did the surgery if at all possible.. taht is if you can stand the pain of it...

Shelly, I too have a kidney stone mine is 7mm.... I have had it since last November. I was still able to have my WLS on 3-11-03 with out complications. It is of course always good to let your Dr. know but I don't see it being a problem. I wish you the best for a safe Journey, and a speedy recovery. let me know how it goes with the kidney stone. hugs and Gd Bless Maureen

Shelly - I'm six weeks out and take Paxil. I can still take it. Eventually they said I won't need it. I started taking mine again after I got home from the hospital. I was able to take the pill form. I didn't have any trouble.
