HAD MY REVISION FROM VSG TO RNY

Dec 24, 2017

Well it's done, had my revision from VSG to RNY 12/19/17.  Like I said in my previous blogs everything happened so fast,  2 and a 1/2 months exactly.  With the vertical sleeve I don't really remember too much after surgery, but with RNY  I'm experiencing pain and a lot of bloatedness. My stomach is so swollen I'm only 5 days post op so I guess that's expected.  A lot of things has change since 2011 Up until now for example back then I could eat gummy  vitamins now they want us to do the swallow the pills.  Which right now for me is kind of hard to do so I crushed them up like my high blood pressure medicine and my iron pill.  I went on Amazon in order me multivitamins and calcium citrate chewable which really work right now.  So I'm just gonna take day-by-day and see how it goes.  I see my doctor next week for my one week post op.

Approved for revision VSG

Oct 31, 2017

I started the process for the revision in September and now October 31st I was approved for the revision. A go back the 1st week of November to get my date for the revision. All I had to do was to get the sleep study and get the upper GI done, and one nutrition visit. Over the 6 year's I had the surgery I gain 40 pounds, But the acid reflex is the real reason. I'll keep everybody post it on my next step.

Revision VSG

Oct 05, 2017

OK here I go I am 5 years in 10 months out from my VSG, Now I'm thinking about getting a revision done started talking to my surgeon again and now about to go though the steps. Let me start off by saying my HW 196 the day of surgery 190, in my lowest weight was 135. About second years up until the beginning of this year I stayed at 145-150. So January 26th I had and a tummy tuck done. All everything was OK for a least 2 weeks but then the an unthinkable happen my mother had a stroke. With that I did not recover fully, I was so stressed out and I didn't get enough rest or eat right I gained weight instead of losing weight. All together again about 45 pounds to 50 pounds since surgery Dec 2011. My medical doctors suggest I go back to my surgeon to see if I can get a revision done, which I thought was impossible. I had to do the 2 hour class all over again but once I seen the doctor she explain to me because I was getting the revision I only had to do the sleep study and the upper GI and one nutrition is visit. So with this said I will probaby getting it done before the year is out . The only thing I'm nervous about is I have a different insurance company then I did when I had my 1st VSG.
