My name is Sarah and I am 22yrs old and I live in plainwell, Michigan which is in between kalamazoo and Grand Rapids. I have been overweight for as long as I can remember I think the first time that I really realized I was fat was in the second grade at least that is when all of the name calling started. I come from a family of overweight individuals and have been struggling with trying different diets and support groups including weight watchers, southbeach diet, biggest loser diet, diabetic diet and just cutting back and trying to change my eating habits. I started learning about gastric bypass when I was 16yrs old and have been researching it ever since and I just now found this website and it has been so helpful so far I wish I would have found it sooner. My mother and my sister are not very supportive with me looking into this surgery however my dad is with me on it he says that if it will help me to get healthy and live a better life then go for it. He just wants to know all of the details. At this time I am currently without insurance, I was just told about applying for disability and have just printed out the papers. So I guess that this is the beggining. So wish me luck
