New to the site..8 days post-op

     Hi!  I'm excited to find a site that stays busy with lots of active people sharing and caring..and crying!!  My name is Simone and I live in Virginia.  I have 2 boys, 12 and 15, and both are very active in sports, thank goodness!  My husband is on board but is having fun buying things he knows I can't even look at, at least that's how I feel now....I have been teaching for 4 years and love it.  I was a stay-at-home mom for 8 years and retail prior to that.  U of A grad, Roll Tide!!
     My weight story starts at the age of 6 when my well-meaning grandmother served me (or rather I ate) half an apple pie for breakfast.  I was a chubby kid up until puberty when I finally started to get rid of baby fat.  High School was fine but I starved myself to remain a size 8 when everyone one else seemed to be a size 4.  College was great, lots of walking, I looked great but didn't know it....I picked up jogging with a sorority sister as well as walking the huge campus several times daily.  After college I quickly put on thirty pounds-no longer walking, eating lots of fast food and casseroles....Fast jump to getting married, I lost 30 lbs to fit into my dress with some Dr's pills and B-12 shots, put back most of it by the end of the honeymoon.....Two children later ( one was 9 lbs 6 oz the other 10 lbs half oz- no gestational but did the 3 hour test for both), pcos, one semi-functional marriage,  fenn-fenn for 40 lbs, WW for 20 lbs,  and I ended up at 294 lbs.  I cried in my Dr's office when I saw the weight, and she calmly told me it was only up 4 lbs from the year before-SLAP!!!  She had offered up WLS the year before and I went home and looked on the net, signed up to receive info and that was as far as I got.  This year when she suggested it again I went home, got on the computer and signed up for the seminar.  that was four months ago and here I sit 8 days post-op.  It's my 8th day on a liquid diet, I have to close my eyes when fast food commercials come on, I can't be in the same room when the rest of my family sits down to eat due to the smells not settling well, and I've lost 20+ lbs!!
     Sorry for the book, I guess I'm really just excited to have found this site!!!
