Been a while....

Jun 25, 2011

Time really does fly when you're having fun.  I've lost 197lbs, down from 357 to 160 but I flucuate between 160-164 and I'm SO fine with that.   I've went from a size 28/30 pants to a size 6 and I can wear smalls/medium size shirts! OMG I NEVER dreamed of getting to those sizes, EVER!  I've started looking into plastics recently with big dreams of magically coming into a boat load of money to cover them.  LOL!  My wish list consists of a lower body lift w/thigh lift and breast lift/augmentation.  I have the most difficulty with my thighs and I never expected that.  It's hard being this size but not being able to wear shorts or short skirts.  People understand when you're heavy what your body looks like, but when you're this small, they don't expect it to look like this.  My clothes hide my skin issues very well and LORD thank you for Victoria's Secret, they mega push up bra is like a $5000 boob job! LOL!!!

It's definitely a whole new world.  Going from always being the girl in the background to being the girl who's the center of attention is very difficult to get used to.  Like I said earlier, clothes hide things very well and people don't understand the issues I really have.  I have small bat wings but all things considered that would be the very last procedure I would have done.

I still have not ate anything w/over 5g of sugar and I don't miss it anymore.  There's so many sugar free alternatives out there now.  I still don't eat anything high fat, and keep to a protein heavy diet with lots of fruits and veggies.  This was the best decision of my life and I only wish I could have had it done sooner, but it's made my 30's the best years of my life so far.

Now if anyone wants to magically gift me the dough for my plastics feel free to let me know. LOL!  Don't we all wish it was that easy?!

Lost the weight of my man

Oct 04, 2010

Me and my fiancee were chattin' last night and we realized I've lost him in terms of weight.  170lbs to date.  Oct 19th will be my one year surgi-versary and I still look at pictures and I can't believe it's me.  I'm wearing a size 12 pant, woman's size large shirt and it's just been an amazing expierence.  We've got 19 days until the wedding and I have to have my gown taken in.  We're both just so excited to get married and go on our honeymoon.  We need a break after the year we've had with all the wedding planning, my surgery, etc...

ONEDERLAAAAAAAND!

Sep 07, 2010

Yup, that's right folks, I have officially joined Onederland and it's the first time I've been here since middle school!!!  I jumped on the scale at my mom's Friday and I weighed in at 199!   AND I can zip up my wedding dress, now all we have to worry about is me not shrinking out of it! LOL!!!  I'm feeling awesome, working out as much as I can while planning a wedding and I'm finally starting to accept the fact that I'm not plus sized anymore.  My brain is a little slow to catch up, I still reach for the larger clothes. LOL!!  Total lost to date = 158lbs!

Coming up on 9 months

Jul 07, 2010

Hello all!  I've been out of surgery for about 8.5 months now and things are progressing really well in my opinion.  I've lost about 138lbs and I'm getting so close to one-derlad that I can taste it.  My weight loss has slowed some, but that's to be expected and I'm not down about it because I see and feel my body changing.  I do have some loose skin, but I've seen a difference in my legs since I've joined the gym.  My arms will probably always have a wing but you can see and feel some serious muscle under there.  =o)  Protein + exercise = Muscle and Muscle burns fat, so I make sure I'm lifting at least 3 times a week.  I've started doing some classes like Zumba and tonight I'm trying Body Combat at my gym which is like kickboxing and I'm excited to check it out. =o)  I've pretty much shrunk out of The Avenue (sad cause I really like that store), my XL's from Old Navy are too big, they're now my gym shirts. LOL!  I actually bought a men's size Large shirt at walmart and that was pretty cool to be able to wear something w/out an X in front of it. LOL!!  I have one pair of 14's I'm in from The Avenue, but at Fashion Bug I'm still in a 18, most other places it's a 16.  I ordered and have already picked up my wedding gown in a size 14.  I can't fit it now, but I've got 3.5 months so I should be good by then.  =)  I wear tank tops now and I even got a cute one shouldered shirt that I look totally hot in if I say so myself. LOL!  I feel really great and truely feel like the girl inside of me that was hidden by all the weight is finally emerging.  I still have my moments where I worry if the chair will hold me or if I'll fit into a seat or I'm the largest person in the room and then I see my reflection and realize just much I've changed....  I've said it once and I'll say it again; best decision of my life.

Hello, my name is Cindy Evans

Jun 10, 2010

and I'm a gymaholic.

Seriously?  Really?  Yup.  I'm addicted to the gym.  Every day I find myself wishing the day to go by quicker so I can get to the gym.  This past weekend I didn't get to go to the gym Friday, Sat, Sun or Monday and I was pissed.  I mean really, actually mad that I couldn't get there.  I find myself wanting to play frisbee, go buy me and the soon to be hubby bikes, tennis raquets.  It's like I can't get enough physical activity.  If it wasn't for the fact that the tanning salon closes at 8:30 I'd probably stay in the gym for like 2 hours at least every evening....  LOL!!!  Am I living in a bizzaro world?  What happened to me?

An adult woman carcass

Jun 08, 2010

That's what I've lost so far.  131lbs, an adult woman carcass as me and my mom jokingly said this weekend.  LOL!!!!  Down to a 16 pant comfortably, headed to a 14 it looks like.  Fitting XL's shirts.  My 1x shirt I bought at Kohl's is getting baggy.  My 14/16 shirts from Lane Bryant fit normally when I originally bought them to fit super snug under tee-shirts.  Being able to shop so many places really makes you realize that every place cuts their clothes so differently!  No wonder woman are size obsessed.  When you can only shop at plus size stores like Fashion Bug and Lane Bryant, you don't see that huge of a difference in sizes, but man you really have to try everything on until you learn how that store cuts their clothes....  Fun new interesting things I've noticed.  I'm been pushing it in the gym and actually get upset when I can't get there.  If I'm gonna addiction switch, that's the addiction I want.   I find myself craving physical activity.  Frisbee anyone?  LOL!  I beg my fiance on a regular to play frisbee.  I constantly want to be moving and being active.  It's so awesome!  So in a little under 8 months I've lost 131lbs, gone from 357-226lbs.  I feel muscle and bone and I've felt my muscles grow since I've been in the gym and life is kicking ass right now.  =)

Old Navy = Trouble!

May 04, 2010

So Saturday I went and did some shopping....  After my revelation that I can fit into some XL's I had to go try stuff on.  I went to Old Navy on a whim.  I've never been able to shop in a regular store and even though they carry 2X's and up to size 20 pants in the store, I never could fit it.  So I grabbed some t-shirts one in a 2x one in an XL and pants in a 18 and a skirt in a XL. And everything fit!!!  All I kept thinking was "Oh boy, this is gonna be trouble, I can shop in Old Navy now!" LOL!!!  So it seems that right now I can wear the 1x's in the plus size departments and the XL in the regular departments, my possibiities are endless!  I just wish my bank account was too! LOL!!!  It's funny, a 100lbs ago when I lost 10lbs you couldn't tell right away, now when I drop 10lbs I see it and feel it in my clothes.  My size 22 shirts are too big!  A coat that I wore just last month actually is now too big.  It's crazy!  I know the whole point is to get healthy and I am, I'm currently training to do a 5K on the 29th, I've actually jogged/ran, yes JOGGED/RAN, on the treadmill and my labs all came back good so my vitamin levels are where they should be.  But man, getting into an XL is just cool!  Knowing that I can shop in regular stores is awesome!  I had to shop in the plus size when I was in middle school.   OMG, I'll fall off my chair when I can fit a large.  In the grand scheme of things this isn't major, but to me it's awesome motivation.  My inner fashionista is BUSTIN' to get out!

XL? Me? Shut up!

Apr 30, 2010

So last night I tried on my fiancee's XL shirt and it fit!  It was snug, but snug in a good way. He was shocked and needless to day so was I!  I then tried on his XL work shirt which is button up and that fit too!    I was so excited because I ran to the closet and pulled out my OLD high school coat which the biggest I could get was an XL in high school and it was so snug but guess what?  That's right! It fit comfortably!!!!!  I'm smaller then I was in high school!  How awesome is that??    Now I can go give blood and actually wear the free t-shirt they give me!  LOL!!!  I know store's sizes are a little different so I'm still techinically plus-sized, but it still feels good to know that a loose fitting XL isn't too far off in the distant future!

Also, had my "official" 6 month weight in on 4/27/10 and I have lost 118lbs.

Happy 6th month surgiversary to me!

Apr 19, 2010

Today is my 6 month surgi-versary and I've lost between 110-115lbs. I'm feeling great and most of the time I forget I've had surgery, unless of course when I'm eating.  I'm down to a pant size between 16-18 and same for my shirt size.  The male attention is crazy insane and a little hard to deal with but flattering nonetheless.    I'm so looking forward to bike riding this spring and summer and can't wait to buy my very own bike, not to mention swimming and hiking!!!  I have my official 6 month visit on the 27th so I'll get my official weight loss then.  As I've said before, I don't own a scale because I refuse to be a slave to the scale like I see so many others be.  I feel good, my clothes are getting bigger and I'm doing the right things and that's what matters to me.

Times flying...

Mar 17, 2010

Here we are in March already and time really is flying.  I'll be 5 months post op the 19th of this month!  I still can't get over how normal life is for me.  What I mean is that I never really thought that after surgery would be this easy.  I haven't had any issues with food other then some minor nauseous if I eat too many nuts or too much food....  I do have some problems getting in all the protein my NUT wants me too, 133g is a lot. But I do get minimum 60-80 a day.  I've gone from wearing a 30/32 top 28/30 pant to a 22 top 20 pant, almost in an 18/20 top. =o)  All my 3x & 4x shirts are HUGE on me and I LOVE it!  It's an awesome feeling.  I've lost probably about 100lbs.  I refuse to own a scale because I see too many people on here weigh themselves everyday and get obsessed. It's a guide, NOT a God! =o)  But two weeks ago I was at 95lbs lost. =o)  I need to be exercising more and I find myself wanting to exercise which is great.  The weather is finally improving and it's nice to get home when it's still light outside so that helps....  I'm just feeling really good and really happy and every time I catch myself in a mirror or photo now it hits me and I get all excited all over again.
