At 15 I was at the top of my fitness. I could run a mile in 6 minutes and 30 seconds and could bench press 120 lbs but no matter how much I sweat or ran the weight remained. Being 30-40 lbs overweight didn't seem to bother me because I was..and am..very confident in who I am.
After giving my body a generous chance to start its menstrual cycle on its own we finally decided to go to the doctor where I was then diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome and insulin resistance. At such a young age all I heard was 'no period' ..and after 6 years of being noncompliant I have developed mitral valve, hypertension, sleep apnea, anemia, and ultimately an abundance of scar tissue on my ovaries.
I regret not being responsible so in Feb. 2012 I talk to my PCP on making a drastic positive move for my health. He agreed full heartedly on my proposition on bariatric weight loss and we went to work on my 7 months!!!
He I am on my final step before scheduling my surgery--- 14 days on my cpap. I am thrilled that I will soon open up a chapter of health not only for me but for my lovely, handsome fiancee who is my rock. I love him for being so patient and confident with me.
So here's to the fat girl signing off and the healthier one signing on!!
Sincerely,
The Fat Girl. (For now)
