Tri-City Regional Medical Center (COE)

"It may seem strange that I would rate a hospital so high but this one truely deserves it. I only had one problem with the ICU nurse. The blood pressure monitor, miserably kept going off-every 15 min. and I kept waking up from the pain of the BP cuff expanding. Of course I would moan from the pain and constantly being woken up so the nurse who NEVER stopped humming for 8 hrs. decided i was in pain from the operation and KEPT COMING OVER telling me "You need to get some sleep or you won't get well" AND KEPT HITTING MY PAIN PUMP! Finally the male nurse Paul came out and I asked him if my BP Monitor was set correctly and I told him why..He checked it and said she had it set wrong-he then reset it to the right time interval and reminded me only I should be hitting my pain med button!! NOBODY BUT NOBODY was allowed to touch my morphine pump. But sure enouh that little nurse lady came in again and just when she reached for my button I GRABBED it SUDDENLY and scared the crap out of her as she thought I was sleeping and I told her Not to touch it again...AND SHE DIDN'T!! The male nurse Paul was wonderful and so was the physical therapy guy who bombarded me with computer questions so I wouldn't think about the pain of him making me walk! He was kind and patient and very dedicated too! Other than that experiance I absolutely LOVED the nurses at station 2(when I was out of ICU and back in my regular room). They were all just great to me-they knew their jobs and did them well and always with a smile! I even got to sing a few tunes with one of them. They were all very tiny in comparison to me but they handeled me like I was the tiny one, treating me with respect and dignity. They never made me feel embarrassed to ask for any type of help even when I couldn't wipe my own butt. They were always encouraging and gave me a feeling of complete safety. When I left I actually cried feeling I would surely miss them! I would reccommend this hospital to anyone..Oh yeah...even the receptionist and the intake(paperwork folks)wasted no time to get me processed..Everything was smooth and even they were all smiles. DO NOT HESITATE TO USE THIS HOSPITAL!!-I AM GOING BACK THERE WHEN IT IS TIME FOR MY TUMMY TUCK ETC!! Sincerely, Hally Sue Norton"

"Jan. 31,2003...Because I live in a different state, I havn't had the pleasure of meeting my Surgeons face to face but my first consult was with Dr. Fobi's partner, Dr. Falahy. He was VERY VERY nice.He has a GREAT sense of humor and was Very patient taking lots of time with me-explained any and everything I asked of him. He definately left me with the feeling that I will be in well qualified and caring hands. So far all of his office staff have been wonderful! The only thing I worry about is that when I call there I rarely get a "Real Person" to talk to right off the bat. They have voice mail & sometimes it does take a bit of patience awaiting their calling back. But they do have a number to call if you have an emergency so I guess that's ok...I will answer these questions again when I finally meet with them.
