What am I going to wear?

Mar 14, 2009

So tonight I went on my first date in over a year.  I was so nervous.  I didn't know what to wear.  I hate going on dates.  Is he going to like you? UGH!!!  What am I going to wear?  So I finally figure out what I am going to wear.  The problem is...and this is never the problem....the skirt is to big.  YAY.  I wear the silly thing anyway.  So not only am I worrying about impressing the guy.  I am worrying about my stupid skirt falling off every time I stand up.  Now, I really don't have anything to wear.  I know tear drops are really from everyone's eyes.

The problem is all the weight I lost is from before the surgery.  I was 307 the day of surgery which means I lost 40 pounds before surgery.  Then the week after surgery I was 318.  Let me tell you how happy I was about that.  They said it was water weight and swelling, which I bought.  Then a week later I was down to 305.6 which led me to believe it was definitely water weight and swelling.  The following week, 303.  So, I think things are a little slow, but as long as they keep going down, as is well.  Well, I weigh my self twice a week, which I probably shouldn't do.  How did I gain weight?  I am like what the heck.  It was only 0.6 lbs, but still I am still only drinking protein shakes how is that all I am eating and I am gaining any weight.
So, I am afraid to let the shopping begin when I am not exactly seeing the staggering weight loss numbers I see on some of the other blogs and forum messages.

Also, I think the date went well.  I guess we will see, you know, if he calls.......In the meantime, the post surgery weight will start dropping soon, right?

Well, I hope everyone is doing well.  For those who are waiting for approval; Good luck and don't give up.  For those who have had the surgery; Keep doing a great job and don't let one bad judgement ruin all of your progress so far.

Just an infection.

Mar 05, 2009

Turns out it was just an infection.  Thank goodness.  I know it sounds silly to be excited that I have an infection, but I am glad that that is all it was.  A course of antibiotics and I will be all better.

I hope everyone is doing great.

Well, things were going great and I thought except for the fact that I was tired by the end of the day, I was ready to go back to work.  I didn't have any pain.  I was able to exercise a little (love the Wii Fit).  I was able to go out and run some errands with my mom.  I was haven't any difficulty drinking the protein shakes (except they don't taste the greatest).
Then out of nowhere I started feeling really nauseous and having abdominal pain again in the middle of the night.  Turns out I have some kind of infection.  At least, that is what we are hoping.  I had to have a CT scan today.  So, tomorrow I will find out the results.  I have been on antibiotics for 24 hours now and I am feeling a little better now, so hopefully it is just an infection and nothing more serious.
The great thing is the staff at my surgeons office responded well.  My surgeon was great and did not treat it like I was making it up or like it was no big deal.  She responded and explained everything it could be.  I am a nurse so I had already jumped to all the worse things, so she helped to calm me down.  I really appreciated knowing that they were still there even after the surgery.
I hope everyone out there is doing well.
