Well the 28th will be one month since my VSG surgery and I do not feel any different or feel like I look any different. I am worried all the time that the doc didnt make the sleeve small enough or have I stretched it out by drinking to fast or drinking while eating. I hope this gives me the results I was wanting soon! Im losing hope and I have waited soo long and wanted this soo badly to lose hope now!

Well my liquid diet paid off apparently...my surgery went great and he only took 45min because my liver was out of the way and he had a clear view right for my stomach. I was nausea in recovery but after that I felt much better I even walked 3 times the same night of my surgery. The second day was good but the doctored entered in clear liquids and that made the gas in me go nuts. It hurt so bad to burp or hiccup. That night was rough. The nurse told me to rock in a rocking chair and that has helped get rid of the gas. I am home now and tired. I haven't had any pain meds since I left the hospital because I have been more sore than in pain. I did take my nausea med though and I am not taking in enough fluids yet so  have a small fever of 99.9. hopefully tomorrow will be better.

This is it! I am only 2 days away from surgery. My doctor put me on some kind of medication to prevent gall stones and to keep my gallbladder healthy but I think the prescription has given me a UTI even the the nurse said it cant. But I looked up on webmd and it is a side effect so thats not nice at all! I am nervous as all get out and could seriously use some support but so far no friends on this site yet so I am doing this on my own. :(

Well my doc put me on a liquid diet for two weeks before my surgery. The first two days were beyond rough but the third was better and today is my fourth. I miss food sooooo much and cooking dinner for my family makes it harder but if this is what I have to do to get my surgery then I will do it. Though I am very tired of these protein shakes already! I would love any ideas or advice on how to make it on this diet. Its hard when you just cant eat the food not that its medically possible. I mean after the surgery I am sure I will be in pain and I wont want to eat but now...now I can but I am not allowed too. If I had this much will power I wouldnt be chunky in the first place! Geesh!

I HAVE BEEN APPROVED!!!!! It is all happening so fast. I got my approval Monday 2/11 and they scheduled the surgery for 2/27. I have to start the shakes on the 16th...preop appt on the 21st....clear liquids the 26th...and surgery the 27th! I have been waiting 3 years for this news. I am so excited and kinda nausheus at the same time. I am ready for a whole new life though! I want to take advantage of all the new doors this surgery will open for me! I want to be the mom my kids deserve, the wife my husband shows off, the friend that other friends want to borrow my clothes, I want to be a new me! Thank you Lord for finally making my dream come true!

I have completed everything except my Psych Eval which I am going on Jan 11th for. I finally got the clearance from my PCP so hopefully after the 11th my insurance will be approved and I will be posting my surgery date! I really want this so badly! I am ready to become one of the before and after pics!

For three years I have tried and tried to get weight loss surgery. The first year my BMI was not high enough for my insurance to pay for it. The second year my husband was transferred to a different state and we ended up moving 2 weeks before my approval for surgery came thru and there was no way I could fly back and afford to stay thru recovery and everything. This year, I met a great Surgical Doctor here in TN named Dr. Mark Kent who has a phenomenal nurse named Tracy who has been working just as hard as me to get this surgery for me. My new PCP here in TN has not been so helpful and has dragged this out so much that now my Psych evaluation, and my PT test have expired and I have to redo both of those. After waiting months for my referral letter from my PCP she forgot to add one simple sentence that states I have Cardio Pulmonary Clearance. After chasing her on the phones all day it seems like it will be months before I get it finally faxed over. I want this surgery sooo badly. I have gone to 7 different consultations and seminars that I probably could host one myself. I am praying for a Christmas Miracle and this will all finally be correct and insurance will approve quickly so I can be on my way to the operating room and come out starting my new life!
