Lawrence Barzune

"I saw Dr. Barzune for 4 months before I had surgery. He surpervised my diet and exercise program that Aetna required. He was very helpful and precise with everything, so that the Aetna had everything they needed. As everyone else has said, Dr. Barzune is a very strict surgeon. It's his way or the highway. I have always had a lot of respect for him because he truly cares about all of his patients, no just about making money. All post-op appointments are free! Tell me another surgeon who would do that! I have 2 friends that are nurses at Baylor Dallas and they work with Dr. Mc. They told me that he sometimes does 11 surgeries a day! Can you imagine being number 11 on that list?! No thanks. They also told me that while his patients are in the hospital, he does not come and see them again. Dr. Barzune visited me at least once a day every day that I was in the hospital- even on the weekend! I felt very comfortable with him in charge of my well-being. Dr. Barzune wants to see all of his patients once a month for the first year after surgery. He has support group meetings once a month as well. The office staff is always willing to answer any questions as well. Before making the initial appointment with Dr. Barzune, you must go to one of hi monthly information seminars. The seminar is very informative and gives about 3-4 hours of information- anything and everything you wanted to know about RNY or any of the other procedures. Dr. Barzune is the most qualified and knowledgeable surgeon in Dallas. He has been doing this surgery longer than anyone in the metroplex. You will be in good hands if you choose Dr. Barzune to be your surgeon. I rate him a 10+++!"

Medical City Dallas

"The only issue I had during my hospital stay was with a very rude x-ray tech. She is an African-American woman in her 30's or 40's and was extremely rude. I was waiting outside of the x-ray room, bracing my stomach with a pillow like my surgeon instructed us too. When she came out to get me, she grabbed the pillow away from me and told me it get up with out it because I couldn't take a pillow with me everywhere I went. We exchanged words back and forth until I was at the point of tears. She was very rough with me during the x-ray session. A few days later I had to go back for more x-rays and I was so relieved to see that someone else came out to get me this time. Well, I ended up not being so lucky. The crazy lady came into the room and told that tech that she would do this one. As soon as they walked out, she yanked my pillow away from me. She obviously has issues. Beware of the crazy x-ray tech!! "
