My whole life I have struggled with my weight. During the early 1990's, I was the smallest I had ever been thanks to staying on diet pills (Ionomin, Pondimen, Fastin, Phentermine, etc)! I went through a marriage separation in 1995 and temporarily moved to Salt Lake City from Mobile, Alabama. I began to eat homemade (HUGE!) sugar cookies that were sold in a convenience store. That was the beginning of my gradual weight gain. My weight shot up during the time I was there (6 months) from165 to 189! I just seemed to be less active and continued to eat bad. I began drinking diet cokes more often instead of unsweet tea as before. This in time became my addiction as well as with my sweets that I continued to crave. From 2006, I have steadily gained to my all time high.
In November of 2013, I started working out with a trainer 3 days a week and walked in the park at least 4 days a week. I lost weight and got down to 211 lbs from 262. I was looking good. However, I continued to have bad snacking problems and when I decreased my exercise down to training 1 day a week, I gradually started to gain. Speed forward to today, April 15, 2016 and I have gained all of that weight that I worked so hard to lose.
When I saw a commercial for Bariactric surgery, I decided to go to a free seminar. My insurance company said they will cover under certain provisions so I am now at a point of waiting on the nurse to call me to schedule my first appointment. In the meantime, I called two very dear friends of mine who have had the surgery and they told me it is the best thing they have ever done for themselves! They said I won't regret it! Now I am just waiting for Brittany with Dr. Tribble's office to call me to set up an appointment. I am scared yet so excited and hoping that I will be approved by my insurance company.
