4 weeks out-down 28 pounds

Jun 26, 2015

I am 4 weeks out from my surgery and I feel pretty good.  I had my surgery in Mexico with Dr Ponce and my Coordinator Trish were absolutely fantastic.  Everything was organized, professional and the staff from A-Z were more than I ever could have asked for.  The ratio of nurses to patients in the hospital is 1-1.  You are constantly supervised and taken well care of.

My toughest day was my travel home day.  I had 8 hours of flying with a lay over of 2 hours.  I still had alot of gas and finding the right food for my post opp was difficult but I made it.  I was travelling alone and I think that is why I kept it together.

The surgical experience was emotional and I was overwhelmed coming home.  Adapting to missing food and changing the way I think about food has been the most difficult.  I healed very well, I have been taking vitamins and eating as per the diet.  I have gone off track a bit mainly because I am somewhat in my old way of thinking and I grab and chew before I even think about it.  I am more tired than I thought I would be but many people have that experience however every day I feel better about myself and my body.

If anyone is questioning surgery in Mexico, don't hesitate.  Make sure you are comfortable with the coordinator as they are the ones doing most of the work!
