Tomw is my appt with the surgeon. it is my first appt. with a dr. finally my isurance issues are over and my journey now begins. i have gained weight since my last weigh in. i haven't been too careful with diet for being afraid of my bmi dropping since i started on the border line and at risk of not qualifying for the surgery because of low bmi.

I Have been listening to others and their results on the lapband surgery. I'm still doing my research on the matter and have come to the point where i want to go ahead a get this done. I was talking to my cousin in TX and she expressed to me that it's a good thing. Her husband had the lapband done last month and he is doing great. He has already lost 33 lbs. I am looking forward to this journey. I went to apply for the proper health coverage so that i can move forward with this part of my life. I have always been an attention grabber but for the past 5 years or so, I have been battling with weight gain. I want to be skinny minnie again...lol. Well, not so skinny, but I would like to be my old self again and participate in dancing and sports like i used to do. 2 years ago i was diagnosed with condromalacia (thinning cartlidge in the knees) and it has been very hard to travel and go on those long walks that i used to enjoy so much. This is part of my weight problem. I am not as mobile as i used to be. It all started with the love for jogging. I was a regular jogger and that cause my knee problems. I was put on disability 2 years ago and everything has been down-hill ever since. I am really looking for all the support that i can get at this point. I do not want anything to discourage me from making this descision. I'm moving on. Who knows, i may be able to go back to work.
