It been a minute, only because I was in the Hospital for 18 days.  And yes it was a rough 18 days.  I don't even know where to began. 

I woke up 1/10/09 we severe cramping in my stomach.  So had my husband take me to the ER .   Well they did a CT Scan and found out that the fat in my stomach was causing my bowels to twist.  So I was admitted the say day and had a repeat Bypass  and part of by bowel was removed on the 14th. 
Well them the drama started on 15th I could not eat or drink anything it all came back up so on the 19th, because they did not know what the problem was, they had to insert a feeding tube, because I was not eating, and still I continued to puck up until the 25th.    On 26th I had an EGD done and found out that I had a stomach ulcer and gastritis, I was sick as a dog and would not wish that sickness on no one.

It was rough and it was not looking good but GOD.  It was times I had to turn off the phone and TV  shut the door and began calling on the Name of Jesus, I thank God that He heard my cry.    and healed me.  I was discharged home on my birthday the 28th (a present from God) still have the feeding tube and an visiting nurse comes to see me.  Would I do the bypass again if I had to,   oh yes.  So far has lost 46 lbs and loving it.  Just taking it one day at a time.

Just want to give an update. 

Thanks to everyone that was praying for me.  God has kept me, now I just have to walk it out. 
I am feeling good.  Pain is mininum, and as long as I get up and walk around the gas pain is not as bad. 
Lost 10 lbs so far.... Thought this day would never come.

Some don't understand (and I guess they wont) why so close to Christmas.  If I dont do this now I never will,

I have come to know that the way I had chosen to eat in the past has made food my enemy.  Many asked are you ready, 

are you sure this is what you want.  Yes I am ready to take charge over my life and yes I am sure this is what I want. But the funny thing is, it's that ones that need to be doing exaclty what I am doing. I think they want to do it, but

have the nerves too. 

Hey OH fam,

Just giving heads up, Met with the nutritionist  (Beth) and was cleared, even though had all my vitamins and calcium and proteins and 2 day meal plan all together, she made me promise that I would get the vitamins: FORVIA because they are the best for patients that has had WLS.  I have my PreOp appt with MaryEllen next week and a sister is done.  Just sitting back weight for my Day To Come 12/22/09.

Sometimes I have mixed feelings but I guess that is to be expected.  Oh trust me the decision always goes back to having the surgery.  Being though now has less than 2 months, started to cut back on large and second helping of food.  I asked my husband not to bring any more Pepsi in the house and to please dont eat cookies, cakes and pies oh my around me..lol  Since he's my support he agreed.  Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on some good Protein drinks and recipes, that I can start now even though my taste buds will change after surgery.

It's been a minute.  Here's an update, Have all my clearances in and needed to get records of my weight history for the last 2 years which the Dr office is faxing to my surgeon office. 

Now the insurance rep at the surgeon office gave me a date 12/22/09.  Dont want to get my hopes up, since all the paperwork has not been sent to insurance company as of yet. 

Psych Dr cleared me today

GOING TODAY TO GET MY PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION TODAY....
AND I AM NOT EVEN WORRIED.  I ALREADY KNOW I AM A LITTLE TOUCHED.

Had my EGD done at Christiana Hospital... And Dr Meyeson (GI Dr) said everything was fine.. and would be sending my clearance to my surgeon.  Thank You Lord... Just need to finish up couple of classes and I am well on my way.

Just feel like that is something that I am missing.  Have all my appt for nutritionist setup and the psychologist.  Getting the EGD this week.  Is there anything that I am missing?

In the beginning stages of WLS, but I get my EGD on 8/21/09 that will be grand. Already got clearance from Cardiologist and Pulmonologist.
