Let's see...I would consider myself under the light-weight category for WLS. I was weighed in at 213 lbs (January 2nd, 2013), and I am 5'2".

I currently have PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome, and have been dealing with extreme symptoms for years now. Symptoms such as weight gain around the abdomen, adult acne, and worst of all: extremely irregular and especially long and erratic periods, including spotting in between, and possible infertility.

I had always struggled with my weight, even before the age of 12, but it didn't bother me until I was 15. That's when all the dieting started, and never ended. When I was 20, I did an extreme diet with "Physicians weightloss diet," i went from 193 lbs to 165 lbs. I felt amazing and thought I could keep going, my weightloss hit a plateau and I gained the weight back just six months after, then when I was 22 the PCOS kicked in "hard-core." I finally became familiar with PCOS and realized not only had it become easier to gain the weight, it was now increasingly more difficult to lose it.

I am currently not diabetic; however, my PCOS has placed me in a pre-diabetic stage, which means if i continue on this road, diabetes would be one of the stops.

Although my symptoms from my weight aren't as extreme as others, my family history, including heart risks, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cancer, and diabetes, well, continuing on the road I am on scares the shit out of me.

It was not an easy decision to make, but having considered everything, my weight gain, the symptoms of my PCOS, possibly being infertile, and seeing a future that looks dim and full of medical issues and problems, it just all fit and it was decided that I would get the Gastric Vertical Sleeve Surgery.

My surgery date is January 14, 2013.

I will try to keep everything as up to date as possible!!!
