4 days post-op

OP day
The surgery went well. My hernia is repaired and my band placed. Praise the Lord! They wheeled me into surgery at about 7:30am and I was waking up at about 10:15am. Everyone was really nice and I was grateful. The only thing I would have liked to have spoken with one on the surgeons team to ask about the hernia and have them point out exactly where the band and the port was located.  The pain on surgery day was minimal. I managed to walk around CVS picking up my meds (wish they would give you the prescriptions on the pre-op testing day). I was extremely happy to see my bed, but of course could not sleep as my stomach was sore and bloated.  Unfortunately, I sleep on my stomach so there was not much sleep for the first 3 nights.

Day 1
When all the surgery meds had worn off I was in quite a bit of pain. Running a fever of 100. Being scared of the narcotics I opted to spend the night with liquid extra strength Tylenol. It was fine and took the edge off the pain in my back and my sore stomach. Feeling nauseous so used my anti nausea drugs.  Drinking all that they recommend was impossible,but I did the best I could, I was not hungry and nothing tasted good anyway.

Day 2
Feeling a bit better today no Tylenol all day. Still not meeting the fluid goals. In the evening the fever came back so more Tylenol and then to bed.

Day 3
Had a better night as I was at least able to sleep on my right side quite comfortably. Even ventured out to the store to look for whey protein. I came home utterly exhausted. Still not getting all those fluids in.

Day 4
Had a good night with some good Zzzzz's. This is the best day so far. Still getting tired really easily. Emptied the dish washer and had to take a break. Did not go back to bed during the day and actually pulled the hose out to water my flowers. Had to rest afterward and the hose did not get put away, but it's all good:).  Did much better with the liquids today, yeah me!
