I have been overwight all of my life . I was always quiet and a loner in school always felt like everyone was making fun of me or talking about me even if they weren't. I hated school!! I am happily married for 10 years and have 2 boys ages 11 and 8. I have tried many diets throughout my life and failed them all. I am 31 and live in Princeton, Indiana. I do not work because I have medical problems. In 2002 I was diagnosed with Lupus(sle) It all came on suddenly I got all of the symptoms one right after another and now they won't go away. I have raynaud's, fibromyalgia, and most recently last week found out that I have a form of skin Lupus. I was given Provigil from my surgeon to help with my fatigue from wls and I had a very bad allergic reaction to it which brought out the skin Lupus. This two conditions together is called Rowell's syndrome and is very very rare. I have a severe rash, fever, pain ect. I am being treated by many dr's in Indy. I will get over this and hopefully never have to deal with it again.
I decided I wanted my life to change for my health, family I fear that I will not be around to see my children as adults. I had no problems with my insurance comp. I had cigna they were great.I did do 6 months of medically supervised wl.Surgery was good. I did not like the nurses and staff after surgery, before surgery everyone was wonderful. The or nurses were even wiping my tears as I cried until I went out. I was waiting for the anistesthologist for a while which made me more nervous. i was really afraid that I was not going to wake up. The only problem related to wls that I have had is low iron. I have had 2 infusions and on iron supplements. They have since stopped due to the rash. Hopefully no more! My weight loss is actually on hold right now due to health problems.I have not had protein drinks or vitamins for 2 weeks because of all of this. I am going to start again Monday(tomorrrow) hope things get back to normal soon. I have been wanting to eat often and alot the last few days with being in the hospital having high doses of steriods through thr I.V and now 100mg at home. I have lost 40lbs. since surgery 8-8-06 that is good but would be much better if I did not have this big set back. I went to go to the store this evening and put on a pair of jeans that I wore before surgery and could not believe the difference. they fell off. They were 3 sizes bigger than I can wear now!! I am so glad that I have this website. There is just so much that your friends and family can put up with listening to you talk about weight loss all of the time.I am addicted I am here day and night late at night to and I need to stop it cause that is one reason that I am sleeping so much during the day along with all of my med. problems.I am not into exercising yet(due to health) I really want to but don't even know where to start I guess my treadmill would be a start huh!!lol I wish everyone lots of luck during there journey!!!
