i made it! :)

Thank you everyone for your very kind words, prayers, and warm thoughts!!!  They meant the world of difference when I went into that surgery room with great confidence in God's will for me.  Thank you all for being reminders

Its been 4 days since my surgery and I'm finally starting to feel a little better.  I have this unreal pain in my shoulders.  The nurses said that its leftover CO2 from the operation that they pump into you to see everything better laproscopically.  It hasn't completely disappeared from my system and travels straight to my shoulders whenever I get up..once it hurt so bad I just started crying like a baby ...ouch

I've felt really REALLY weak on the clear liquid diet, but am getting everything down okay.  Today I start a wider variety of liquids, which i am VERY excited about!

I had oatmeal for breakfast and only had 2 teaspons and felt full.  It's amazing- this feeling they call "full"

I never really experienced it very often and to have it after 2 teaspons is unbelievable!

At the same time it's been difficult being at home watching tv all day and seeing commercial after commercial of hamburgers, pizza, hot dogs, etc and to be around my family and relatives eating pasta, chips, ice cream, etc.
I feel like I've been mourning food...SAD huh?

Mourning the thing that has held me back countless times from opportunities and successes, the thing that fed my insecurities and made them grow everyday, the thing that was ultimately going to bring me to my death...and I MISS IT?!

It doesn't make quite sense, but has made me realize my underlying addiction to it.  I have a HUGE battle with food, but for the first time in my life I am actually equipped with a weapon that will help me win..

I am down 15lbs since post op and am excited to see that darn scale start finally moving down

CHEERS to all lap bandsters- may we conquer this journey
