doctor's appointments
May 06, 2007
Well, I got my doctor's appointments out of the way last Thursday. All went well, except Dr. Tanaka told me he will not schedule me for surgery until I lose 10 pounds! (I've heard he tells everyone that) I went right out & joined weight watchers- so far I've lost 5 pounds but it's probably water weight & I am STARVING TO DEATH!!!!!! It is so very hard to be so hungry all the time. It's hard to take my mind off it...but I just keep thinking once I have the surgery that will be gone for awhile. My appointments took nearly all day- I thought they were scheduled a long time apart but ended up running between them not to be late. There was a lot of waiting. I didn't get in to see the doctor at my appointment times, all of them made me wait- some really long. Hope is still on the horizon! The minute I weigh in at weight watchers with the 10 pounds off I'm going to fax the booklet to Pacific Bariatrics so I can get my surgical date.

Hello!
Apr 30, 2007
I'm just setting up my page- I'm pretty computer literate but I'm struggling here! I'm supposed to see the 3 doctors this week at pacific bariatrics. This has been a very frustrating journey for me. I started last May after making the decision to have the surgery & it took over a month to get into the class at Kaiser, then after 6 months (towards the end fo Feb) I "graduated" and thought I would be having surgery in a month or two- NOT!!! Every step of the way has been like pulling teeth. I have been chomping at the bit- so to speak (and I think I've gained a few pounds from doing ti) ever since. Suddenly I feel extra-huge & have been having all kinds of physical problems. I can't have the surgery quick enough to suit me!
I am a nurse & used to work at Mercy. I even took care of some of the bariatric patients. They all seemed to do so well!
