Moving Onward!
Mar 30, 2007
My consultation was great. More questions answered and more goals before me. I'll see Dr. McKnight this Thursday to get bloodwork underway and receive a referral to a pulmonary specialist for a pulmonary screen. Things are moving along . . .
I Have a Consultation Date
Feb 21, 2007
I have a consultation date! Thursday, March 29, 2007 @ 10:45.
This weekend I will work on my weight history letter and gather together the sample letters and testing needed for the consult. On Monday I'll fax everything to Dr. McKnight.

Confirmed Insurance Coverage
Feb 20, 2007
This afternoon I called my insurance company and confirmed that LapBand surgery is covered. The really great thing is that I can use my out-of-network benefits to see the surgeon that I really want to and it will not be an egregious expense. This is great news.
Second Seminar and I'm Ready
Feb 16, 2007
Friday
2/16/07
I attended my first seminar in August 2006 and I was ready to begin exploring, but a whompin' promotion, the work that came along with it, and moving sure changed things. They're ALL great, but I had to go with the flow. Thus my goal had to shift until Spring 2007.
This morning I attended the 2nd seminar at Columbia-Presbyterian. Now that things in work are semi-predictable, the dates for my fellowship have been confirmed, and business travel flexible I can move forward. On Monday I call my primary to schedule pre-op tests and schedule an appointment with the nurse practioner and dietician. Let's get this ball rolling!
As I felt during my first seminar, the bypass surgeries are neither indicated in my case, nor do they really appeal to me. So I have decided to pursue the LapBand restrictive method.
It was so bitter cold today as I waited for the bus after the seminar I wondered what it would be like to lose my ample butt insulation! But you can buy silk underwear, so I consider it a fair trade off.
