Sure wish I had found this site a year ago!! I have struggled with weight problems all my life.. I actually lost quite a bit years and years ago through weight watchers, but never got quite to goal and ended up gaining it all back plus some.
Then with arthritus and knee problems, I ended up in a wheel chair and was totally unable to exercise which made losing weight even harder. In addition, I needed to lose a substantial amount of weight to have a better chance of my knee replacement surgery being sucessful.
So last August I got lap band. The weight loss was slower than I expected at first, but it has been coming off steadily. I am down 102 lbs from my high just before my sugery and getting close to my goal. I think this is the most dangerous point for me though.. in the past every time I've gotten down to this point it seems like I'm less motivate to try and I either plateau or start slipping back into my old bad habits.
I am hoping with the lap band, I can keep that from happening this time!! I have worked very hard to be sucessful with the lap band.. no chocolate or sweets, no milkshakes or french fries.. I try to eat healthy foods and no junk. So far so good.. but need to make my new healthy eating habits permanent because I don't ever want to gain all that weight back again!
