Hi All:
I'm new to this group and would like to introduce myself. My name is Susan Gorden, and I live in Tarpon Springs, FL. After doing a lot of research on Gasatric Bypass and Lap Band Surgery I've decided to go with the Gastric Bypass. My surgeon is Dr. Richard Gordon ( no relation, lol) in Largo and he seems to be a very caring Dr. and doesn't rush you through your visit.
I'm scheduled for surgery on Oct. 9, 2007, and I can't wait. I have been trying to get Medicare to approve this to no avail for the past 3 months so I decided I would go ahead and pay for it.
I'm diabetic and my Dr.'s tell me that I won't be diabetic anymore, and I'll be able to get off of all the meds I take. I have been to meetings down at Pasadena Medical but would love to find one near me. I understand there are meetings at Morton Plant Hospital and I plan to start going to them. I didn't know about them till I saw Dr. Gordon so I guess I've missed the one for Sept. Can anyone give me info on them?
Where do I go to find the schedule for the meetings for GBS? Also are they during the day? I'm unable to drive at night due to night blindness. Does anyone live near me, in Tarpon Springs, that I can drive with if you go to night meetings? (I'll buy the gas).
