Insurance approval!
Mar 15, 2009
This morning, Sunday, on the way to work I checked the mail. My letter of approval was waiting for me! I can hardly believe it. Just 5 days from when I got a letter saying the documentation had all been sent i should hear from my surgeon's office for a date the fist of next week. I am so excited.

More of the journey to a improved life
Feb 13, 2009
Had my bone scan and fitness assessment. Very excited that she felt I would do very well because of my existing fitness level. I look forward to having less pain and being able to keep up better. Also, my kayak! Bone scan was interesting, I'm interested in what the outcome will show.

The journey starts
Jan 31, 2009
My first appt w/dr. Gershin went very well. He was open and honest and his staff was wonderful. Thankfully , i have a very flexible schedule and am able to start the pre-cert procedures almost right away. I have my colonoscopy and endoscopy on Monday, dietician consult on the 4th and bone density and pscyh eval on the 18th. My first support group meeting is the 24th. So everything is scheduled , except the sleep study and I hope to be able to get that done this month also. So the road blocks have been nil, so far.

New Beginnings
Jan 19, 2009
This is the beginning of what has been a 30 year process. I have made the very consience decision to pursue WLS. I have attended the informational seminar, and now have an initial appt. with a surgeon on Friday. I have tried it all, as I know so many of you have. I want to live the lifestyle I love, tennis, swimming, hiking. You guys are my inspiration and I look forward to the support from those who "get it!"
