On a new road in 2009

Well, the thought of revision has been in the back of my mind now since February 2008, I started back in on some research of the switch to DS from my failed RNY. Now I don't know mechanically if my surgery failed me. But I do know I have failed my surgery somewhat. I haven't had insurance in a long time and I haven't had that even checked out with an endoscope yet to see what my "guts" look like. The facts are as follows:

 1. I have gained back probably 80% of my lowest weight thus far.

 2. I'm almost 5 years (aug. 5, 2004) out from a very complicated RNY

 3. I was in the hospital and nursing home from August 2004 - January 2005

 4. July 2005, I found out I was 6 months pregnant. (a pregnancy test in june said I wasn't pregnant .... Go figure, damn EPT test)

 5. Still have an open abdominial wound from my WLS in 2004

 6. Still have a home health nurse tending to my open would, and also have a wound vac for the purpose of expediting the healing process.

 7. November 15, 2005 would vac removed, wound is finally closed.

 8. November 22, 2005 my lifes dream and desire to be a mother was fulfilled with a 6lb 9 oz baby boy. He is my life and a miracle. (surgery success here, I was never suppose to have children)

 9. January 2006, lots of personal things start to side track and ultimately derail my progress from my goal of being thinner but most of all healthier.

10. In starts a new problem, "sleep eating" ( now I haven't been officially diagnosed with this disorder due to no insurance, but I demostrate all the classic signs and symptoms. I eat while sleeping, I prepare food I have no memory of. I cook in the middle of the night and don't remember doing so. I have waken up with a partially eaten sandwich in my bed and no memory of it. ) This is how I see that I started to fail my surgery.

11. March 2006, I have a 22 lb weight gain. What the hell is going on.

12. February 2008, To many years gone bye .. tried unsuccessfully to lose the weight I'm at 300 lbs+ again. Still down almost 90 lbs from my highest weight ever. Researching a revision, but stopped short due to no insurance.

13. December 2008 back at the research again. I'm getting married to my fiancee of 4 years. He has Aetna HMO, so far in my current research they cover revisions. Working on getting the actual wording of there policy from them, and looking into surgeons that are covered in network.

14. December 18, 2008 - Starting new here on OH. Come along with the times, converted my "old style profile" to the new style. Praying for better things in 2009. I have been a member of this forum going on 9 years now. So much has changed..
