My surgery was a week ago & at 1st as expected i felt like complete shit & asked myself why the hell i wanted to do this to myself. I was in the hospital until thurs & only started drinking clear liquids the afternoon before. I have been on full liquids since. I get to eat yummy things like sugar free jello & pudding, yogurt, low fat tomato soup, broth, my treat is a sugar free ice or fudgie pop.

At 1st it was really hard to walk & i was in pain. But now i am starting to get around much better & it doesnt hurt as much. However i think i did develop some kind of a lung infection as i have been weezing a lot & coughin up yellow stuff (yuck). I am going to my regular dr today for that. I also am still sleeping in a recliner because i find it more comfortable to sleep at an angle then in my bed since i cant sleep on my stomach like i used to.

 

Anyway, im doing well i guess & i cant wait until wed for my st follow up with Dr Cooperstone my surgeon so i can find out when i can start eating "soft" foods. Also though i will probably get an idea of my weight at the dr today i will get a more accurate picture of any weightloss on wed morn & will keep all posted.

In a little more than 12 hrs i will be on my way to Syosset Hospital to have my gastric bypass surgery. I was on clear liquids all day today & im a little hungry but it wasnt soo bad.

I am a little nervous & alot excited.. I was starting to have some second thoughts the last couple days & was having anxierty attacks but i am sure that this is something i need & want to do to have a better healthier & happier life.

3 DAYS to go until surgery!!! Today is my last day at work & tonite i am going out with my bf & 15 friends for my "last supper". we are going to Meson Ole for some Mexican fod.. im really excited but also so nervous that i have been getting dizzy spells the last couple of days.

Less that 5 DAYS left until surgery.

I had my pre-surg testing today at Syosset Hosptial. Then this afternoon i had my medical clearance appt . I am all set 7 ready to go... well not really.. i still have to go to the stoe & gather thibgs that i will need for when i get home but besides that i am ready & excited!! I am going out to dinner with all my friends on friday for my "last supper"

2 WEEKS from today until my surgery....

I still want to read up some more on it & make 100% sure that this is what i want to do... i meani i know without a doubt that i want to lose weight but its making me nervous to think that food wont be my best friend anymore.

My surgeons office called  me the other day & said that i have been APPROVED!! My 4/16 surgery date is confirmed & my preop testing is scheduled...this surgery is finally going to be a reality for me.. im so excited!!!

I spoke with my surgeons offie today & they said they already got part of my approval from the ins co. They are still waiting on another part but they dont think it is going to be a problem. My NEW surgery date is sched for 4/16 ( 3 wks from tomm). In between now & then i am also going to Fl for a few days to visit my grandfather who is dying of cancer. Then i will come back & have my pre-op testing & clearance  & then ill be set & ready to go. Im a little nervous again but im actually kinda glad it got postponed & gave me some more time to think about it.

So i was origionally supposed to have my surgery tomm but as my previous posts informed i had to post pone.. so on top of everything else i got in a car ax due to crappy weather on fri & now have to fight with the ins co's because the other guy is saying i came into his lane even though he rear ended ME! 
Also today i called GHI to get status of my approval & was told that they didnt even have a record of recving the ppwk yet. I am so annoyed! How is that possibel.. until recently i was sched for surgery 3/20 how can they have not even recvd the ppwk that was supposedly sent to them almost 2 wks ago.. Im calling my surgeons office to find out what the hell is going on!!!

So i found out that yes, my grandfather has cancer & he only has  about 3mos maybe slightly more. Mty parents are now not coming back for another week & a half & then are going back down to FL 2 wks after that. I am going to go with them &  stay there a few days visiting my grandfather. When i called the surgeons office back & tried to get them to sched me a date for wk of 4/16 she wouldnt put me in saying that she isnt sure when she is going to get approval from ins co & may not know for a couple of weeks. UI said how can that be i was orig sched for Tues. I mean if i didnt call to cnx it because of my grandfather how long was she going to wait to tell me i didnt have approval yet & would have to postpone. I said well do you think we should ahve approval in time to have the surg mid april.. she said yes but she still wouldnt giv me a definitdl date. So it just pisses me off so much. How can i go from being told on 3/7 that it shouldnt be a prob to have me approived in time to have surgey on 3/20 to a week later being told she wont know anything for 2 wks. And seh seemed annoyed that i was calling her. UI just want to have set dates so i can plan out what im doing in terms of when & illbe coming back from FL & when to tell my job that i will be out from. ARGH!!!!
