Johnson Memorial Hospital

"It was clean and I felt safe in the competence of all the surgeons and nursing staff."

Dana Lindsay

"My first impression was wow, this woman really knows her stuff. She just so readily came up with answers to every question I had. I knew I would be in good hands. My impression of her today is not much different. She did know what she was doing and did a darn fine job of it, too. Although, I do think I should have had the filter. It might have kept me from getting the bloodclot after surgery. Her staff was the best. Very caring and always ready to answer any question that was within their ability and if they couldn't, they found someone who could. The only complaint I had was not getting the filter. Make sure you insist on the filter, because you should have it. She really stresses aftercare. I am watched pretty closely, because of the clot. I get my blood tested for levels to make sure that I don't throw another clot. I am on blood thinner. She told me that any surgery that involved in cutting in the stomach area was risky. That I needed to weigh my pros and cons carefully before I decided what I wanted to do. She told me that there is a risk in putting in the filter as much as not putting it in. She was great at explaining everything. I rate her an 9 out of 10. I loved her. Both are great with Dr. Lindsay. I think she had the best manner. She even came to the catscan room when they were scanning me for the blood clots. I couldn't lie down without massive pulling pain. She told me I had to because they had to find the clots or I could die. She stood and held my hand while I was in so much pain and guided me every step of the way. I thank her so much. She saved my life, not just with the clot incident, but she gave me my health back and my quality of life. There are no words that can say thank you enough."
