I had surgery Dec 17, 2008 and exactly one month out and let me tell it was an ordeal. I thought I did all the research but nothing compares to actually having the surgery. I had the surgery in Detriot, MI and I live in CT. It was not too bad coming out of surgery however it was sore getting up to go to the restroom of course. I was progressing ok walking the first day and everyday after but I made the mistake of getting on the plane home 4 days after surgery. It was horrible and my incision started leaking with fluids. Afterwards for a week every time I sit up it would leak out this smelly fluid and was really mentally challenging. I went to a surgeon here in CT to see if the incision was ok and he had to open it up so the fluid could drain freely but it was rough and I have never read anyone who said they had that problem. It has been a lil over a week and its closing finally after nearly a month of this. I am feeling ok just wondering if things are working correctly....I hope so....I would love to speak to anyone who has had the VSG. I am one month out and would love to start speaking to people on here.
