Had my one week follow up appointment today. Nurse Practitioner says everything healing well am right where I should be. 15.5 pounds lost in one week!!! Have gone from morbidly obese to severely obese! Hey at least it's a step in the right direction. Still struggling with fluids and protein. Seems like this pouch just doesn't want much put in it.

I had RNY on Monday was released from the hospital on Wednesday. I think I am doing very good. The hardest part has been trying to not drink to much. Yesterday was a very bad day. I told my husband if I had to feel this way everyday I was going to regret doing this. All this pressure in my chest. I think it was gas but today has been much better! I am not getting any protein in so I am going to try to buy some different drinks today or tomorrow to help with that. I was scared to death right up until time they took me to surgery, I thought about jumping off the stretcher and running like .... Everyone tells me that is normal and once I adjust to the changes I will love it.

Well  I have been approved for surgery. I have decided to go with Dr. John Oldham although I am concerned about seeing a nurse practitioner or physician assistant after surgery I really liked him. I will be having my surgery tentatively on April 5, 2010 at Baptist Hospital East. I have decided to go with RNY. I feel like after doing all the research I will be most successful with this surgery. I am scared to death but looking forward to joining the looser's bench!
