I was always thin in my teen years and even after my first son, then I developed diabeties and a host of other things with my health. I now weigh 320 and going up. I put my children first in everything I do so my health in raising them to adulthood is my primary goal. My natural youngest child is 13 this year and I was thinking well soon I will have them all out of the nest and wont have to worry that much about leaving them behind if my health takes me untill a couple of years ago. I started raising my cousins children and I plan to adopt them soon and now my only concern is that the oldest is 3 years and the youngest is only two years old so now I need to really watch my health because im getting older and now have two brand new children to watch over and protect till their 18 or so. Having diabeties, Benign Intercranial Hypertension, migrains, carpel Tunnel, and a host of other things all due to the weight I have put on I feel the need to try the weight loss surgery at this point. I have tried diets and my Dr. has had me on alot of differant meds to help with the weight for about two years now but to no avail. All together now Im on about 17 meds a day and some I have to take four of them twice a day. I stay sick to my stomach and have diarrhea from the meds. So now I have more meds to help that. I cant work due to all my medical problems and have been turned down for disability three times. Its like it will never end. I just need some relief so that I can be a healthy mother again.

I called Norton to check on having surgery and I was put on the seminar list for 04/05/2006. Ok now If someone had told me two years ago it was this easy I might have already had this done.

Norton called and ask me if I would like to move up for the seminar. She said she had an earlier opening. I said sure thing. So now it is on 03/21/06. It really didnt seem real till now and now Im all excited.

I have picked my little sister Donna to be by my side through this. She is thinking about this as well so It might be nice if we can do it together. OK I went to the seminar with my sister in tow. It was good. I have already been on the net reserching for about two years so He didnt really tell me anything I had not already found out. I have my packet that I fill out now and am getting all I need form my PCP. When I went and seen my PCP I was also put on 2 more meds than I had before. The women handing out the packets said from the time we turn in the packets the time for surgery should be about 4-6 months out. OK Here we go.

I finally got my packet together, I got my records from my PCP and she wrote that I was non-compliant all over them. I plan on changing doctors soon anyhow so phooooy on her. I also got another letter from my eye doctor who wrote that he thinks I could benifit from this surgery so I dont feel so bad about my PCP now. I mailed the packet out this morning. Wish me luck everyone.

Nortin called today and set my sister and I up for the Phyc Evaluation and nutrition class with a nurse, its set for 6/29/2006. That same day the sleep center called and set us up with our sleep study for the night of 6/29/2006, since we are so far away, its nice to do it all in one day. Now I'm really getting excited.

My sister and I hit the road about 5 am this morning so we could make our first appointment with Nortin at 9 am. About 8 am we are 2 hours into our trip when Nortin calls us on my cell phone. They say that there had been an emergency and that they had to cancell all of their appointments for the day. I understand about an emergency so I was just a little bummed out that we had to return to Louisville again but other than that we was ok with it because you can not help an emergency. They rescedualed us for the nutrition class and phyc evaluation on the 11th of July 2006. Now we are 4 hours from home and nothing to do until 2:30pm when we go for a our sleep study appointment, so what is a couple of girls to do, SHOP till we drop. Let me tell you I almost dropped. My sister is a shop-aholic. I never seen anyone shop in so many stores in my whole life. Being a bit bigger than her I couldn't keep up with her at all. Now I am about dead and we get to our sleep study appointments and it lasted maybe 40 minutes, then they told us to come back at 8 pm to sign in. MORE time Oh no! There was a mall my sister missed. So off we go to do more shopping. We had a great time and got to spend alot of time togehter. By 8pm I was no longer worried that I wouldn't be able to sleep,lol. I was out like a light. I'm thinking that we have sleep apnia because they said they would be sending our CPAP machines out soon, Darn-it.

What a way to spend the forth of July. I am I guess what you called gaulded all up under my stomach. The heat has me burning and its raw. I want so much for this weight to be gone. Summer time is the worsed because of this. I have applied everything on this trying to help it and most of it just burns to high heaven and the rest dont do much for it. I'm back to smelling like a babies butt and am using desitine.

The people called today and ask for the address for the CPAP to be delivered. I sure hope I can sleep with this thing on me all night everynight.

My sister and I went to Louisville for our reschedueled nutrition class and phyc evaluation and all today. The emergency was that the Phyc doctor had done somethng to his leg and was getting pins and stuff in his leg the day we were schedualed for it the first time. He was sitting with his leg propped up with a big cast on it. Im sure I passed the phyc test cause he just ask me a few questions and he liked my answers. Cool huh, I was in with him maybe 15 minutes.

Well I have my CPAP machine now and sleeping in it pretty good. We should be hearing something from the surgens office very soon. I think we might have one consult with him then pre testing then sugery. I am hoping sometimes in August or first of September.

Nortin called today to set me up with the Dr's consult but I was Unable to answer the phone so they will be calling me back on monday.

Had my first consult with Dr. Rodriquez today. I really liked him. He took my picture, Ask me some questions then told me to get some pre-op test done and set up with him two weeks after I have had my last pre test.

I changed my PCP to a new Dr. because my old PCP wrote that I was non compliant because I wouldnt take a med that made me clench my jaws up all the time.

Well here it is and I have not had the surgary yet but I am getting there.
I seen my new PCP today and gave her the test that Dr. R gave me to have done and her office will be schedualing them soon. I liked her and she said she will give me the best care to her best abilities post-op.

I went for my lower extremities doppler today. They wanted to see if I had any blood clots in the old legs. I dont think I did but you know they try not to tell you anything.

I had to go back to Louisville this morning for an Endoscope.It wasn't as bad as I had imagined it to be, I was asleep for it and my throat didn't hurt very much at all. Dr.R did a biopsy so I hope all is good in the belly.

I went and had the plumanary test done today and this lady said I breathed better than her and she has never smoked a day in her life. Thats reasuring to know that I passed that with flying colors. Dr. R's office called me while I was waiting and told me that he found H Pylori and perscribed me some meds to take. I have a stress test to take on Fri the 15th and then I am done. I have an appointment for Oct 9th with Dr. R. to discuss all the test he gave me.

I went to see my PCP to dicuss all the results of my test today. She said everything looked real good. I passed all of them. She made me copies to carry up to Louisville when I go see Dr. R. She also took me off of about four of my meds. Now I only take 16 or 17 a day. Whoo. hoo. I cant wait to see Dr.R now.

I have seen Dr. R and he said the next time I will see him is in the operating room. He said he is submitting my paperwork. He told me it could take up to five weeks. Then when they get approval his office will call me and set a date. People I am on the last leg of this and now I am getting real ansy.

I have been on the prevpac for the H Pylori now for about a week and a half. I have developed a raging, burning, itching yeast infection. This will only be my second one ever. What is even worse is that today I had trouble peeing and it was burning after I used the bathroom. Now when I go, nothing comes out and I feel like I am on fire and when I can pee it has blood in it. So I am calling my PCP tomorrow. I sure hope i never have to do this prevpac again. OUCHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
