I at one time weighed 527 pounds. I thought I would never get the help that I needed to become and feel like a real person again. In November of 2006 I got a call from a friend that said hey I no of a surgeon that will take your insurance I had at the time Ohio Medicaid. Why don't you give them a call and see if they will be able to help you. I called and went to one of the information seminars that Dr.McGuire's office had. By March I had submitted every thing that was need for the office to try and get approval from my insurance company. The next day I got a letter from the state that said we are doing away with the old form of medicaid I called and told them I had been put on Molina the office told me that was great they had, better luck with this company then with the state itself. We submitted to them March the 1st and and a yes by the 26Th of that month. I could not be leave that it was all really happing. I went up and meet with Dr. McGuire and had the BPD done April 23 of 2007. I was 527 then it is Feb of 2009 and I have lost almost 300 pounds to date. I had to have my surgery reversed sadly on the 6Th of Jan. this year but I am still trying very hard to keep loosing weight. I have learned a lot in the past 2 years on how to eat well and to stay away from the bad things that will make me gain weight again. It was not a easy path to go down but I know I would do it all over again in a hart beat. I am currently in school again to become a teacher and I am really a person again. I am in love with all of the things that I can do for myself now and never take for granite the things that I can do now. I am currently at a point where I am ready to have all the extra skin I have removed.
