"My first impression of Dr. Haicken was that he is very caring. It's rare that you find a surgeon who attends the support groups and checks the message boards for questions. Over time, I have become even more convinced that he is dedicated to providing overweight people with a new chance at a healthier life.
As you can see in my profile, I searched all over the Tampa area for a surgeon. I had appointments with more than one and hit gold with Dr. Haicken. His main concern is not money. He does not require a $2500 "down payment" as do other local surgeons. I would recommend Dr. Haicken to anyone looking for a caring surgeon.
Dr. Haicken insures that all of his patients not only understand the risks of surgery, but that it's a lifelong process. He constantly reminds patients to take their vitamins! It is refreshing to meet a surgeon who stresses what a lifechanging process this is - as it is nothing to enter into lightly.
I have not yet had surgery (I was approved!) but I am confident in Dr. Haicken's abilities. I would rate him very highly. I am sure that his surgical competence and bedside manner will both be great."
