I had my surgery on 9/10/08. At one time I was wondering what in the hell have I done. I have not had an easy time this last month. I was doing really good at first, besides the normal sick feeling at the hospital. I was in the hospital for 2 days. That was fine. I did not hurt. Even after the surgery, I was up and using the bathroom with in 30 minutes after the bathroom. I only hurt when I laid in bed to long. But I could not walk due to being really sick at my stomach. Once that went away I did not have a problem. I came home and that was one drive to come home. I live 80 miles from where I had my surgery. First week was ok. Slept more in my recliner than I did my bed but that went away. Was doing really good on my walking and drinking. Then about 2 1/2 weeks after surgery it all started going down hill and fast. I was getting really sick at my stomach. No matter what I did or drank it would not go away. Things that I could drink before I could no longer drink. Stupidly I thought it would just go away so I did not call anyone. I ended up back in the hospital because I was so dehydrated. I also had a slight kink in the end on my new tummy and it was not letting everything thru. After they gave me 10 (yes 10) bags of saline in 2 days I was allowed to come home. They told me that they think that my new tummy will correct itself. So far so good I feel so much better. Each day things are getting better. I am getting more and more liquid in. Still drink some protien drinks but getting half my protien in from food. I am down 28 pounds and people are noticing.
