Just checking in. Current weight 200 lbs. All is good. No complications as of this date. Good luck all.

I am 88 lbs down from highest weight and 50 lbs down from the day i started my 2 week liquid diet. Life is great and I am so happy these days.

So I am excited to say my surgery was on July 11, 2012 and I feel GREAT. I am 24 lbs down as of today, but 63 lbs down from my highest weight.

All plans fell through and have been a pretty big disaster these passed three years. i am now working towards getting the Sleeve. I will update when something changes.

This has been the worse three years of my life. But things are looking up :)

On Oct. 24, 2008 I was told by my surgeons office that BCBS DENIED my surgery. I'm not surprised and have definantly been expecting this. Atleast now I can move on in a direction I need to go.

Well lets see, Blue cross and Blue shield STILL have not accepted Dr. G into the network, So I decided to pull my finger out of my ass. On 10-03-2008 I told Iliana to go ahead and submit me as an out of network patient. Boy I should have done this along time ago. Atleast I would have had an answer by now and went in the direction I need to go.

BCBS still hasn't responded with an approval or denial, but they have only had my paperwork for a week. My paperwork is supposidly with the review board. Well we will see I'll keep you updated.

I can't begin to explain how aggravated I am. I was told that the insurance companies have NO MORE than 6 months to have approve or deny a Dr. into their network. Well It has now been over six months, and BCBS of FL has still not approved Dr. Gagner. I'm beginning to feel like I have to change surgeons and I DON"T want to do that! 

 Due to this bullshit I am now, more depressed and have gained 20 lbs since I saw Dr. G in March. So now I'm OVER 300 lbs. People I go to the gym and work out atleast 2 times a week. I have been more active lately. Even though I went to the gym tonight, I so did not want to get out of bed and go. Thank god for my friend Marci!!! I just feel like I don't have the energy to do it anymore. My knee's, ankles, back and well my whole body just aches now. I don't know how much more I can take.

Sorry friends, I'm not asking for a pity party, I'm just venting because I'm so upset.

Hi, my name is Tiffany Arnold, I'm a 27 year old female from Florida. I have a high risk job in Law Enforcement, currently employed with the local Sheriff's Office. I am morbidly obese. Due to other illnesses I can not keep the weight off with out weight loss surgery. I am 5'3 and almost 300 lbs. According to my insurance company (Blue cross blue shield of Florida state employees PPO) I am excluded from weight loss surgery and they are refusing to pay for it. I am on the verge of not being able to do my job. I've even had to go as far as creating my own website to ask for help from the public (www.myweightlossreality.com) I speak about the fight with my insurance company on my site. This is shamefull that people have to jump through hoops and get the public involved in your personal life just to get your so called health care provider to well...help you with your health care. I am also currently being billed almost $3,000 for an endoscopy, which I know is covered. Now I'm going to have to go above and beyond to fight to get this paid.... This is sickening. Ladies and Gentleman I don't have $3,000 to pay this, I am an average working person like everyone else.... This is "why" we have "health insurance". I am praying that Americans read my story along with everyone elses and one day be able to put a stop to these greedy insurance companies taking advantage of the hard working people that pay for their services!

Ok, just to update everyone. I thought I was done, but I WASN'T cuz they just told me 3 DAYS AGO that I have more stuff to do. OK, which is EKG, Chest X-ray, 1 meeting w/ dietician, stress test and an endoscopy. So I got this idea from Karlita and I'm going to just make a list on this blog.

Consult w/ surgeon= 03/03/08 ($15.00 co-pay)

Pysc Eval=03/25/08 ($15.00 co-pay) (passed)

Medical records submitted=03/25/08

Advised by Julie that paperwork has already been submitted to the insurance company in early April=04/21/08

Advised by Genevieve to set up pre opt stuff=04/25/08

Consult w/ Dr. Ekici (endoscopy)=4/30/08 ($15.00 co-pay)

EKG=05/05/08

Chest X-ray=05/05/08

Dietician=05/07/08 (is now getting bills for this, Insurance refusing to pay)

Endoscopy/gastroscopy = 05/09/08 @ 11:00 am ($370.00 out of pocket, BCBS is paying 90 %) (isurance is acting stupid now trying to make me pay like $3,000.00) I guess they entered the wrong codes..IDK.

Stress test: 09-16-08, including another ekg and a heart ultrasound.

As of 09-16-2008 I am ALL DONE, I am cleared by my cardiologist for surgery. Now just waiting on insurance answers.
