The Nutrition class went well.  It was a lot shorter and a lot less informative than I thought--but oh well.  I may order a sampler pack of protein flavors from a website the dietician recommended.  I am going to make sure everything is done before I go in on Monday so I guess that means yard work for me all weekend and homework :(  Well I will post the day after surgery!

Today I finally got all of my pre-op testing scheduled.  I have one full day of a battery of tests and a four hour nutrition class as well as one last visit to my doctor before surgery.  The hospital I am using also recommends very strongly that you attend at least one support group before surgery.  It is a challenge to fit this all in when you are working full-time.  Not to mention the amount of time I will be off after having the surgery.  I know this will all be worth it though to take a seat on the loser's bench!!!!

I got a call to schedule my date today.  So 4/23 will be the day for me!  I am really excited about this and can't wait to get a seat on the losers bench!  Now if I could just figure out that ticker ...

I am still waiting on a call for a surgery date.  I found out that the insurance company did lose my paperwork.  This is why I kept getting the run around and no answer to my questions.  I called my employer and wanted to speak to our company rep who finally got things moving for me.  I had to really complain on a daily basis to get any help.  I now have a letter of approval and am staying on the doctors office about setting my date.  I had no idea this process would be this tedious.  I can recite CPT codes in my sleep now...  I pray that there is smooth sailing form now on.  I will post as soon as I get a date....

I am playing the back and forth game with my insurance company now.  I submitted all the documents needed by 1/20 by certified mail after going round and round with the company on what they actually needed.  I called last week and they stated that for some mysteriously unknown reason ; even though I had been calling each and every week, my paperwork had not gone over for review as of 2/20.  I could have blown a gasket but I didn't. I was a bit ticked off though... I am going to have to get my doctors office to help me alittle more.  They have been very hands off in this process and a little more help and direction from them would be greatly appreciated. I guess I need to let them know that again :(  Once I get this approval I can plan my life better.  I am putting everything on hold such as planning vacations, etc until I have a date.  I would definitely recommend anyone else thinking about this process to follow up regularly and ask every step of the way what should actually be happening next.  I have learned my lessons :)  I am thinking positive though and am exploring a health club linked with the hospital near my home.  The Curves that I currently belong to is just too far with my work hours and holds very limited hours.  I am watching "The Secret" with a group of friends this weekend.  Well I will post again soon...

I am currently awaiting a date for surgery and hoping to get one sometime in February!!  Hopefully a year or so I will look back on this blog entry and see how far I've come :)
