Here is the short version:
Open RNY Feb 1999 with complications (intestinal and spleen). Weight at surgery 250 ... lost approx 100 pounds. Regained up to current weight 190. My original surgeon is retired and was 2 hours away. After 13 years, I was referred to a new surgeon who is local and just had my first endoscopy this week. We discovered that I have a fistula (opening in my pouch to old stomach). I was very surprised to find that I do not have ulcers etc. I have been very lucky with that. I will consult with him next week about possible ways to fix the fistula. My blood work has stayed pretty good throughout the years. I take monthly b-12 shots so never had a problem with B-12 deficiency. Currently my ferriin is very low (4) but iron is good so started an iron supplement. Zinc was on the low side so started some zinc too along with my vitamin regimen.
My surgery story is very long and complicated and I will take the time to give more details very soon!
