Weight Goal Reached ********

I know it's been almost a year since I have blogged, sorry I just not a good blogger, but I will try harder from now on.
I wanted to update everyone on my progress, I finally reached my goal of 145 pounds, this morning I was 143.6. I never thought that I would see the day that this would be accomplished, but I DID IT and I'm proud of myself (sorry if I seem to be bragging).
I do have a question, my ticker says "goal reached", If I want to go lower to another goal do I just start all over again with like 10 lbs to lost or just add to my initial weight goal.
Thanks for all of your help and support throughout my journey and more to come.

I'm Home from the Hospital

Well it has been an adventure so far. Nothing really went wrong, except they took my IV's out on Tuesday, forgetting that I have low potassium, so come time to go home on Wednesday blood work comes back and my potassium has bottomed out at 2.1 (not good). So here comes the bag of IV's again with potassium. I did finally get to go home but not until 5:15 pm.
The only thing that really bothers me right now is the drain that they leave in. I go back on Monday, Aug 10, 2009 to get that removed, YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!! You just can't get comfortable at all and you have to pin it to your clothes. It's just yucky!
I'm not really hungry, having to set my phone alarm to remind me to eat or drink.

My Pre-Op Weight Seems Slow!!

I don't know if it is just me or what. But I have only lost 6 pounds on my pre-op diet. I started this on July 21st. I just hope that they will still do the surgery since I haven't lost a whole lot. I had abalsion surgery this past Friday (OBGYN) and I know they inflate you with air, but I just thought it would all be gone by now. They never said anything about losing a certain amount of weight pre-op. Has anyone else only lost 6 pounds and had their surgery? Just curious!

Started my Pre-op liquid diet today!!

Well I haven't posted for awhile. So to get things caught up---- I went yesterday, 7/20/09 to see Dr. Richardson and the dietitian. That all went well, just had to wait a few hours. This is my first day of the clear liquid pre-op and I just can't seem to get the hang of this yet. I know it will take alot of adjusting on my part. I bought the EAS protein powder and it did not want to mix well at all with anything, it was the vanilla flavor, I think I may need to invest in the unjury unflavored to see what that is like.

I Got A Surgery Date. Yipee!!!!!

Just had to tell everyone that I finally have a surgery date. It's August 3rd. A little ways off but it will be here before I know it. Hopefully time will fly
by. My former doctor's office from Herrin, (that is no longer practicing) they are faxing my records to St. Louis to Dr. Richardson at Des Peres Hospital. I keep thinking "It's going to be ok", but my former doctor sure caused alot of us set backs. St. Louis are accepting all of his patients, however the new doctors requires some different testing, which is another obstacle that we all have to go through.
Well I will not grip anymore, sorry it's just really frustrating and the more I think about it, the worse I feel. I know St. Louis is just about 2-1/2 hours away, but compared to 15 minutes, thats a BIG difference.
Thanks for listening and letting me vent. Sorry.

My Surgeron Got Fired!!

Well now I do not know what to do! My surgeon go fired from his practice and the hospital for breach of contact. I won't go into all of the details, however if you are from Southern Illinois you would know who I was talking about. It's been on all of the local networks. The real kicker is I really liked the guy and so did my husband.
Just as I was getting ready for '"my big day" in late July this happens. I can't say that I'm not depressed and haven't cheated on my pre-diet because I have - ALOT!! I'm trying to think positive, his office is working on getting another surgeon down here for follow-ups. However, if the patients have a surgery date they are referring to St. Louis to Dr. Followell or Dr. Richardson. I don't have a confirmed date yet. However, all of the testing I have done I do not want to have to redo after my year start date of testing.
I guess I'm just having a pitty party for myself and need a good talking to and somewhere to vent!!
I'll post again when I'm in alittle better frame of mind. Sorry

I finally got approved March 24th for the RNY. I was going for the sleeve however my insurance would not approve it and said there is no room for appeal. So I will be joining the RNY'ers. I will post more later.

My Testing is Done

Well it's been almost a month since I have posted. Since then I have had all my testing done and out of the way. I still have to go Monday to the Psyc, dietition and to see my surgeon for the results of all of my other tests. Hopefully everything will have turned out ok.
At first the dr office said the vertical sleeve was not covered so I was going for the rny. I have called the insurance company several times on different days so I would get a different representative each time and after talking with them they said that the vertical sleeve had been excluded from my insurance policy, Now however, the exclusion for the vertical sleeve expired on Feb 12, 2008 and now would be covered with medical documentation as if I was submitting for the rny. So wish me luck.

My First Visit with my surgeon

Hi, well I have my first consultation and testing with my surgeon this coming Friday. I am excited and also nervous as to what all he will be going over with me. However, I am in this for the long haul and my health and family. With all of my friends here at OH, at work and church I know I can make it. I'll let you know later. Thanks for caring. Teresa
