Been quite a while since I posted, but I've begun to lose again. Now I'm down 168 pounds and counting. I hope to make the 200 pound loss mark by June 26th.  We'll see how it goes.

I guess I've reached a plateau in my weight loss. It's getting very frustrating, but I can't seem to lose any more weight and haven't since early this month. To this point, I have lost 132 pounds, but I need to lose so much more and time is just ticking away without any progress. I guess I have to just work through it and hopefully I will see some results soon. I had an appointment with my dietition today, but due to a winter snow storm, their office was closed so I have to reschedule asap.

I waited so long for this surgery and I can't believe it's been 6 weeks since. The entire surgical process was very positive. The hospital staff was so supportive and I never felt neglected at the least, although it is clear that the Roger Williams Medical Center is dealing with a nursing shortage. According to Dr. Pohl, my surgery went very well. He expected the procedure to take three hours, but I was finished in 1 1/2 hours. Dr. Pohl said that is due to the 84 pounds I lost prior to my surgery date. 

Since surgery I have lost a total of 129 pounds and I feel amazing. I can't imagine how I will feel after I lose another 100 pounds!  

To anyone fighting their insurance company for coverage...keep up the fight, this is soooo worth it!

Dr. Pohl thought it was in my best interest to lose  weight before surgery so that I would be in a lower risk bracket.  I began this journey of weight lose on my birthday..6/26/2007.  I was 476 pounds and needed to be at the 400 pound mark by my surgery date..11/28/2007. Amazingly enough I did it, plus some.  In 5 months  Iost 83 pounds and I feel great! Now it can only get better!

I have spent my entire life fighting my weight..and losing. Although I come from a family of overweight people, that didn't make it any easier to deal with. I have developed every major obesity related illness there is..diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, lymphedema and A-fib.  You name it!!!
