Rhode Island Hospital

"Only 2 complaints: My first night and day after surgery I was in the step-down unit and it is extremely noisy and I did not get any rest. I had to stay there almost a whole day longer than necessary until a bed was ready for me. The other issue I found was that they were not mindful of my dietary needs. My first meal that they sent up was regular food, which of course I was not supposed to have, only liquids and broth. After the first mix-up though they got it right. Overall, it wasn't bad and the nurses were wonderful."

David Harrington

"I scheduled my initial consultation with Dr. Harrington for February 6, 2003 at 2:00pm! I am starting to get nervous. First impression, his secretary Pat was wonderful! She is very nice and extremely helpful. I will update once I have met Dr. Harrington. UPDATE: 2/22/03 I met Dr. Harrington at my consultation on February 6, 2003. At first he seemed a bit abrupt (he explained he was late for another meeting) and I was a little put off. But after he asked the nurse practioner all the necessary questions we went over before he came in, he sat down and went over everything with me again in detail. He was very open and honest and I appreciated his candor. Dr. Harrington was also very clear about what I can expect in terms of weight loss, and was very stern about the part that I will have to play in my own success. He seems very confident and I especially liked the fact that he took the time to tell me why he does what he does. As he stated, he likes to help people, it's not about the money. Overall, I was very pleased with my first meeting with him and I feel confident with him as my surgeon."
