My husband and I are both plaaning on having the RNY suregery before the end of the year(2008).
Our journey offically began at the end of July 2008. He was 5'11'' and 487 and I was 5'9'' and 522. We have a long way to go. He must lose 50 before surgery and I must lose 75.
He has two daughters from a previous relationship But, that ended when the girls were very young. They do not remember life before me. As far as they remember, they have always had a step mom. The 13 year old is getting a little heavy and we are concerned but we only have her every other weekend. The 12 year old is in good shape, thank goodness. I love them very much and more than anything hope to spare them from obesity.
We have a 1 year old Welsh Corgi who is crazy. We also have two Tortie cats who were ferrel and abandoned by their mother. They are the only survivors of their litter.
I have been employed by the same company for over 10 years. I have moved through the ranks to a sales position that I love. My husband was fired while on a medical leave for his blood pressure from a job he had held for over 7 years (that sucked). His weight has made it tough to find work. This combined with the fact that Michigan's unemployment rate is one of the highest in the country, has made it impossible.
I am very close to my younger sister and have a great family and network of friends. I think we have a lot of support so here we go.................
