Renaissance Hospital - Houston

"The hospital is in a bad part of town and appears somewhat run down. However, I could not have asked to be treated better. They also went above and beyond to be accommodating to my mom who was with me. The building may be older but the staff is top notch!"

"My first impression was Doogie Howser. He doesn't seem to be a socially outgoing person. Over time I haven't changed that opinion but I have found him to be very competent, attentive and caring. I am neutral on his office staff - nothing negative to say but nothing to brag about yet either. He requires you to attend a seminar and he is very clear on all of the risks and expectations. He also has you go through an 'educational' session in his office with a staff member. They verbally tell you everything and then give you a whole booklet that spells everything out including eating plans, etc. I guess the thing that has impressed me the most is that he has been accessible to me since the surgery. He actually gives his patients his cell phone number to call him if you have ANY problems. I had to call him one day and was so worried that I would be 'bothering' him. He not only answered my question but went on to ask how I was doing and assured me to call him again if any more concerns arose. He also spent a good deal of time with me at both my pre-op and post-op appointments and let me ask as many questions as I wanted. He didn't rush me like most doctors tend to do. He sat in front of me and just LISTENED as long as I had anything to say.rnrnI think he is a great surgeon who truly cares about his patients."
